Poster Mania: The Fault in our Stars, 300: Rise of an Empire, and More
Hello and welcome back to Poster Mania. After a few weeks off for the holidays, I had a lot to choose from in the form of new posters. This week you can find the debut poster for the film adaptation The Fault in our Stars as well as character posters for 300: Rise of Empire and traditional posters for Need for Speed, I, Frankenstein, Draft Day, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and In Secret. Check them all out below!
If you missed yesterday’s trailer post, check it out!
The first poster for this year’s token popular book-to-film adaptation, The Fault in our Stars, released. Like the other popular adaptation (Divergent), this one stars Shailene Woodley as a lead and features Ansel Elgort. The romantic drama, set to release on June 6th, is directed by Josh Boone (Stuck in Love).
Four character posters released online for the 300 sequel (titled 300: Rise of an Empire). They show returning star Rodrigo Santoro and the newly added Sullivan Stapleton (Cinemax’s Strike Back). After being pushed to 2014, we’ll finally get to see Noam Murro’s film on March 7th. Check out all four character posters below. (Source: Comingsoon)
Yet another poster for the video game-turned-film Need for Speed released. Although I have reservations about the film as a whole, I do like that Aaron Paul (AMC’s Breaking Bad) is leading the cast that includes Michael Keaton. The colorful poster, which can be seen above, releases in front of its March 14 release date. The movie is directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor), if you were wondering.
Coming back to a film closer to releasing, I’ve attached the final poster (I presume) for I, Frankenstein. The film, starring Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Yvonne Strahovski (NBC’s Chuck), releases already January 24th. Stuart Beattie (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) directed the comic book adaptation.
Ivan Reitman’s (Ghostbusters) football drama Draft Day showed off its first poster recently, too. Both Kevin Costner (featured prominently in the poster) and Jennifer Garner star in the movie that centers around the NFL Draft. Since I’m a huge football fan (no sarcasm), I’m looking forward to the aptly-timed release (April 11th) of the film. (Source: Comingsoon)
My favorite poster of the bunch goes to the Guess Who-inspired poster for The Grand Budapest Hotel. With a large cast, which includes Bill Murray, Jude Law, Edward Norton, and Ralph Fiennes, the movie is poised to be a popular choice on March 7 when it releases. Make sure you take a gander at Wes Anderson’s (Moonrise Kingdom) latest poster above. (Source: First Showing)
Finally, a new poster for In Secret finishes this week out. Although you may not recognize the title, stars Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), and Tom Felton (Harry Potter) should ring some bells. Charlie Stratton’s movie comes out February 21st.
Stop back in tomorrow for the latest photos!
