Clip Mania: The LEGO Movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and More
Welcome to this week’s Clip Mania! Along with this weekend’s release of The LEGO Movie, I have clips from upcoming movies like The Grand Budapest Hotel, Draft Day, Non-Stop, 3 Days to Kill, Bad Words, and Cuban Fury. Check them all out below!
To tout this weekend’s release of The LEGO Movie, I found a clip online. Another bonus (for me at least) is that it involves Batman! The clip shows off the voice of star Will Arnett, but the movie also voice stars Batman alums Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson. The superhero fun doesn’t stop there, either, as Chris Pratt (this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy) also stars. Within this movie, Channing Tatum will also play Superman, so there is plenty of geek goodness to go around. Check out Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s (21 Jump Street) film starting today!
The first clip I’ve seen for Wes Anderson’s (Moonrise Kingdom) The Grand Budapest Hotel released online, too. I’m also excited for this dry comedy because of the cast. It features Bill Murray, Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, and Jude Law. The movie is due out March 7th in the U.S., so you’ve got about a month left to wait.
Coming out (undoubtedly on purpose) right before the Super Bowl (check out the Super Bowl trailers here), four clips for the football comedy-drama released. The movie stars Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner, while under the direction of Ivan Reitman (Stripes), and releases April 11th before the actual NFL draft. Check out the clips if you are interested in the movie.
Back to February, and back to Liam Neeson, a clip for his latest action-thriller Non-Stop came online. The movie also features Julianne Moore (Don Jon), but it doesn’t look like my kind of movie. Hopefully I’m wrong when the movie comes out February 28th. It’s directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown).
The second Kevin Costner movie of the week (with a clip) is McG’s (This Means War) 3 Days to Kill. Like Non-Stop, it’ll release in February (on February 21st to be exact). This action movie stars Amber Heard (The Rum Diary) and Hailee Steinfeld (Ender’s Game). To get ready, watch the clip above.
Like The LEGO Movie and The Grand Budapest Hotel, I’m excited for the comedy Bad Words. Not only does it star one of my favorite comedy actors in Jason Bateman, but he is also making his directorial debut here. It co-stars Allison Janney (Juno) and Kathryn Hahn (Afternoon Delight) and will hit limited theaters starting March 14th. This clip is above!
I’ll end with a more timely movie. James Griffiths’ Cuban Fury, a dancing comedy starring Nick Frost (The World’s End), Rashida Jones (I Love You, Man), and Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), comes out already next weekend on February 14th. If those three stars aren’t enough, I don’t know what else to say!
Have a spectacular weekend!
