Trailer Round-Up: The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, and More
Hello folks, hope you remembered to switch your calendars over to March. With three trailers for March releases (Muppets Most Wanted, Noah, and The Double), this is a timely edition of Trailer Round-Up. The rest of the movies featured are ones worth looking forward to (for one reason or another), and those movies include The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, Jupiter Ascending, and Kanye West’s Yeezus movie.
Scroll to find all seven trailers…
The next Spider-Man iteration, Marc Webb’s follow-up The Amazing Spider-Man 2, seems to be releasing stuff every week. This time around we got the dubstep international trailer giving us a look at the “Rise of Electro.” Electro, for those that don’t know, is played by Jamie Foxx and will be Spidey’s (Andrew Garfield) main nemesis. However, by the looks of it, Spidey will have a couple of others to battle along the way. The movie releases May 2nd.
For my money, the best new trailer was for the newest Godzilla remake. Gareth Edwards’ (Monsters) film will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), and Bryan Cranston when it releases two weeks after Spider-Man on May 16th. The best part of the newest trailer is Godzilla’s updated roar, so check it out!
In just two and a half weeks (March 21st), we’ll be able to see the Muppets sequel. Titled Muppets Most Wanted, James Bobin’s live-action film will star Tina Fey, Ty Burrell (ABC’s Modern Family), and Ricky Gervais. If you want to see the latest “We’re Doing a Sequel” trailer, check it out above.
A new international trailer also came out for Noah, which will release on March 28th. The biblical-themed film will be Darren Aronofsky’s (Black Swan) latest, and it definitely headlines the month of March (along with Divergent). The trailer doesn’t seem all that different than the others, but there are glimpses of new footage. For those that don’t know, the movie stars Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, and Emma Watson.
An international trailer released for Jupiter Ascending, too. Ascending is the latest effort by the Wachowskis (The Matrix). Be warned, the trailer has Japanese subtitles, but it is a small price to pay if you are interested in the movie. The sci-fi film, which releases on July 18th, stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
The third (and final) movie to release in March with a trailer is Richard Ayoade’s (Submarine) The Double. It is also the closest release since it’ll come out on March 7th. The Double stars Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska (Stoker). If you want a last-second look at the flick, watch the latest trailer…it is worth it!
If you didn’t know Kanye West was making a movie then you’re just like me. His film, aptly titled Yeezus (after his popular, and polarizing, album), is clouded in mystery. While I’m still trying to figure out what the movie is about, I do know that he released a teaser-like trailer for the movie. Besides Kanye, I’m not sure who is the movie either…or when it will come out. Basically, all I can tell you is: the trailer released and it is above.
Head on back tomorrow for the newest posters!
