Trailer Round-Up: Noah, Sabotage, Devil’s Knot, and More
As we near the midpoint of March, you’d think we’d start getting some trailers for movies later on this year. However, at least a couple (Noah and Sabotage) are for upcoming movies. However, other movies, like Devil’s Knot, Get On Up, The Quiet Ones, Cuban Fury, and Hateship, Loveship, did release new ones.
As always, scroll to the find the trailers and tidbits of information on each film featured.
Coming out already on March 28th, Darren Aronfsky’s Noah is so close we can almost feel it. Although this weekend’s big release of Divergent stands in its way, I bet Noah will be a big time player in the box office numbers. If you want to see the latest trailer, it is above. To sweeten the pot, they’ve put the lovable Emma Watson in front of the camera to introduce the trailer. Besides her, the movie stars Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins.
Also releasing on March 28th is David Ayer’s (End of Watch) R-rated action film Sabotage. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sam Worthington (Avatar). A short (just over a minute) red-band trailer released to get us ready.
A biographical film based on the “Memphis Three” is making its way to theaters soon, too. Many may not know about Devil’s Knot (or the “Memphis Three”), in which case I’d check out the trailer. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth, and Dane DeHaan. Atom Egoyan (The Sweet Hearafter) directed the film and you can see it starting May 9th.
The long-overdue James Brown biopic, titled Get On Up, showed off its first trailer late last week. Get On Up shows Chadwick Boseman (42) as Brown with a supporting cast that includes The Help’s Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Check the debut trailer out since the film doesn’t release until August 1st.
Moving to the horror genre, a new trailer also came out for The Quiet Ones. This one stars Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire). It’s directed by John Pogue and tells the story of a professor (Harris) that gets his students to try to create a poltergeist. Yeah…so it’s not my type of movie. The Quiet Ones comes out April 25th.
The dancing rom-com Cuban Fury comes in at number six. I’m pulling for this movie because it pairs Nick Frost (The World’s End) with Rashida Jones (I Love You, Man) and Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) also appears in the movie. Although I initially said this movie debuted on Valentine’s Day, I now know it comes out on April 11th.
The final trailer is for a movie I hadn’t heard of it until this past week. Hateship, Loveship, as it is called, does have starpower behind it, though. Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Hailee Steinfeld (Ender’s Game), Guy Pearce (Memento), and Nick Nolte (Warrior) will all make appearances in Liza Johnson’s comedy-drama. Check out the trailer if you want to know more.
Check back tomorrow for the week’s biggest posters!
