Poster Mania: Transformers: Age of Extinction, Jupiter Ascending, and More
In this week’s edition of Poster Mania, look for the latest poster (or posters) for Transformers: Age of Extinction, Jupiter Ascending, Million Dollar Man, A Haunted House 2, Walk of Shame, The Other Woman, and Begin Again. Scroll to find out more information on each film and, of course, take a gander at the posters.
Oh, and if you missed yesterday’s trailers, check them out, too!
Another poster for Transformers: Age of Extinction makes this 3 out of 4 weeks in a row with a new poster. This one again features star Mark Wahlberg. This time around he is running from a giant Transformer (or what I assume is one) in the sky. Michael Bay, despite his talk about not returning to the franchise, will helm his fourth variation on June 27th in IMAX and 3D theaters. (Source: ScreenCrush)
Although it won’t have the same clout behind it when it releases, another anticipated blockbuster is the Wachowskis’ (The Matrix) Jupiter Ascending. The film is set to release a week and a half before Transformers 4 on July 18th. Two character posters (for stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis) are available above. (Source: Yahoo)
Craig Gillespie’s (Lars and the Real Girl) film Million Dollar Arm debuted the first poster I’ve seen. Disney’s Slumdog Millionaire meets Moneyball baseball film will star Jon Hamm (AMC’s Mad Men) and Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi). This is a relatively unknown film, so expect another trailer and some clips before the movie comes out on May 16th. (Source: Disney)
Although only one of them is technically new, I thought I’d attach all three posters I haven’t yet for A Haunted House 2. While I’m not at all excited about the spoof movie, that doesn’t mean you aren’t (or shouldn’t). Michael Tiddes’ film will again star Marlon Wayans but add Jaime Pressly (I Love You, Man). Expect to see this film already April 18th. All three posters are below. (Source: Comingsoon)
Next on the list is Walk of Shame. Steven Brill’s (Mr. Deeds) comedy will most notably star Elizabeth Banks (featured in the poster above) and James Marsden (X-Men), but actors like Gillian Jacobs (NBC’s Community) and Sarah Wright (Made of Honor) will also be in the movie. Look for this movie starting May 2nd. (Source: Yahoo)
Following up a clip from Friday, I also wanted to attach the newest Emoji-inspired poster for The Other Woman. While some may find the poster tacky (or just not get it), it is obviously trying to appeal to younger audiences. I find this a little suspicious given the concept of the movie (three women trying to screw over a guy that is cheating on them), but we’ve had worse things happen right? Nick Cassavetes’ (The Notebook) rom-com stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann (This is 40), and Kate Upton. This one hits theaters April 25th. (Source: Flicks and Bits)
With yesterday’s trailer, The Weinstein Company also debuted a new poster for Begin Again. The poster takes after director John Carney’s great (in my opinion) movie Once. This time around, it’ll star Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. Previously titled Can a Song Save Your Life?, the film will release on July 4th. (Source: Comingsoon)
