Poster Mania: X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and More
Welcome to this (hopefully happy) Tuesday. In today’s Poster Round-Up post, I’ll have four for X-Men: Days of Future Past and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, two for How to Train Your Dragon 2, and one for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, 22 Jump Street, Map to the Stars, and Frank.
Check them all out (along with directors, stars, and release dates) below.
Four more posters hit the web last week for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The posters, and movie, star James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, and Halle Berry. Not included in the posters today are stars Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender (among others). If you haven’t heard by now, this X-Men iteration has quite the cast! Bryan Singer’s next film comes out on May 23rd. (Source: JoBlo)
A new IMAX poster landed (or perhaps, more aptly, glided) online for Marc Webb’s Spidey sequel. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Jamie Foxx. If you’re definitely going to an early IMAX showing (something I’d suggest), you’ll likely get a free poster! This one releases May 2nd (or May 1st at PM showings). (Source: Fandango)
With marketing ramping up for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, it was only a matter of time before we got some teaser posters. And teaser posters are what we got last week. Four character-themed posters landed online showcasing the four mutants in Jonathan Liebesman’s (Wrath of the Titans) film that stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and more. Check out the movie starting August 8th. (Source: Comingsoon)
Although it’s not a very exciting poster (besides, perhaps, the two guns), I did also want to show off the latest 22 Jump Street poster. As you can tell, from looking above, the movie returns stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will also return to what may very well be a franchise. We’ll see if the second one is as good as the first on June 13th. (Source: JoBlo)
Speaking of Jonah Hill, you should also check out the two posters for How to Train Your Dragon 2 (which again voice stars him). The animated sequel also returns Jay Baruchel and Gerard Butler as well as director Dean DeBlois. Jonah Hill isn’t the only thing in common with 22 Jump Street, as How to Train Your Dragon 2 shares the June 13th release date. (Source: Comingsoon)
If you haven’t heard a lot about David Cronenberg’s (Cosmopolis) Maps to the Stars, don’t worry because I hadn’t either. The satire/drama (give Cronenberg’s filmography: go figure) stars Julianne Moore (Children of Men), John Cusack, and Robert Pattinson. With a rumored film festival run later this year, I’d expect the film to hit theaters late this year in the U.S.. However, a confirmed date will have to wait. Check out the international poster above. (Source: IndieWire)
To finish things off, I did want to present the latest poster for Frank. Like Map to the Stars, this one doesn’t have a confirmed date quite yet. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t be excited for the comedy starring Michael Fassbender (although you won’t see any of this face in the movie). Lenny Abrahamson (What Richard Did) directed the film.
Come back tomorrow for the latest photos!
