Photo Mania: Transformers: Age of Extinction, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and More
Today’s Photo Mania is heavy on summer blockbusters (and more specifically Michael Bay) as it features his films Transformers: Age of Extinction and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You’ll also find new pictures for X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. In the lesser-known category, check out new images for The Voices, Maps to the Stars, and Ex Machina below.
Each photo is viewable below, and be sure to check out the full galleries when necessary. Also, check out yesterday’s posters if you missed them.
Three more pics surfaced this past week for Transformers: Age of Extinction. Michael Bay’s fourth installment in the franchise (which will apparently be a trilogy of its own) stars Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender). This action flick will hit theaters this summer on June 27th. Check out all three photos below. (Source: Comicbook.com)
Just like Transformers, the X-Men franchise is also gearing up for its release this summer. Summer, in this case, will come a little early as Bryan Singer’s latest X-Men (officially titled X-Men: Days of Future Past) film graces theaters May 23rd. It’ll feature stars from both “universes” as older stars like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be joined by Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender. Check out all six photos in the gallery below. (Source: IndieWire)
Five photos also came online for another big summer blockbuster – Matt Reeves’ (Cloverfield) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, and Keri Russell-starring sci-fi film will continue the Planet of the Apes universe on July 11th. Before then, check out the five photos below, which includes some apes with shotguns! (Source: USA Today)
The last big blockbuster to report on is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and its two new photos. This film has a small connection to another film this week (Transformers) because Michael Bay is involved as a producer. Jonathan Liebesman’s (Wrath of the Titans) film stars Megan Fox and Will Arnett and will come out on August 8th. (Source: Collider)
Although the Planet of the Apes pictures are surely unique, the two that released for Marjane Satrapi’s (Chicken with Plums) The Voices take the cake. The comedy/horror stars Ryan Reynolds (seen above with lots of blood) and Anna Kendrick. It currently doesn’t have a specific release date in 2014 but that’ll change soon. (Source: Empire)
David Cronenberg’s (Cosmopolis) Maps to the Stars also premiered a new photo. The film stars Julianne Moore (Children of Men), John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, and Mia Wasikowska (shown above). The satire doesn’t quite have a release date either, but you can expect this one out sometime later this year! Make sure to also check out yesterday’s poster for this film. (Source: IndieWire)
Ex Machina is probably the most unknown of the bunch featured today. The film’s first look recently released online and is available above. The sci-fi thriller is Alex Garland’s directorial debut and stars Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) and Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis). This one also is awaiting a release date. (Source: IndieWire)
