Clip Mania: X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, How to Train Your Dragon 2, and More
Happy Friday everyone! Four of today’s featured movies, like X-Men: Days of Future Past: Godzilla, Moms’ Night Out, and The Immigrant, are coming out in the jam-packed month of May. However, future movies like How to Train Your Dragon 2, Frank, and Maps to the Stars are also featured below.
If you missed Monday’s trailers, Tuesday’s posters, Wednesday’s photos, or Thursday’s news breaks, check them out, too.
Four clips surfaced this week for the highly-anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past film. Bryan Singer’s next X film will unite a lot of the previous stars (such as Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, and Patrick Stewart) over Memorial Day weekend on May 23rd. If you want to see some of the action scenes (including the scene shown after The Amazing Spider-Man 2), watch the videos above.
I also included five clips for the other anticipated May release – Godzilla. Releasing a week earlier on May 16th, this reboot looks to challenge Captain America: The Winter Soldier in terms of critical reception. Godzilla stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy). Gareth Edwards (Monsters) directed the film.
Moving back to June, I’ve attached two new clips for How to Train Your Dragon 2 as well. Dean DeBlois will return with voice stars Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, and more in the coming future. Check out the two clips before going to see the movie on June 13th.
I like to champion movies you may not have heard about from time to time. And while this isn’t the first time I’ve attached marketing for Frank, the movie still isn’t anticipated by most. It does star Michael Fassbender, though, and that is just one of the reasons you should keep this movie on your radar. Lenny Abrahamson (What Richard Did) directs the pic that is due out August 22nd.
With Mother’s Day this weekend, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that a movie titled Moms’ Night Out is releasing. If you hadn’t heard much about the movie (like myself), a clip is above. The comedy stars Sarah Drew (ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy) and Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings). Again, check this movie out starting today.
David Cronenberg’s (Cosmopolis) satire Maps to the Stars also debuted a few clips. Three of them can be found above for the movie that stars Julianne Moore (Don Jon), John Cusack, Mia Wasikowska (Stoker), and Robert Pattinson. This movie doesn’t have a U.S. playdate quite yet.
Again, The Immigrant is an example of a movie you may not know a lot about. However, names like Marion Cotillard (Inception), Joaquin Phoenix, and Jeremy Renner should have you stoked (like me). James Gray (We Own the Night) debuts his film May 16th alongside Godzilla. If you’d like to see a new clip, it’s above.
Have a great weekend!
