Clip Mania: X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, Maleficent, and More
Happy Friday everyone. Better yet: Happy Godzilla Day! To help celebrate, I’ve attached the newest (and last) clip for the remake. Also available are clip(s) for X-Men: Days of Future Past, Maleficent, Jupiter Ascending, Million Dollar Arm, The Rover, and Captives.
Check the clips out below!
X-Men: Days of Future Past is arguably the biggest release of both the summer and the entire year. With just a week until its release (officially on May 23rd), the film debuted four more clips. Three of them are focused on introducing you to the various characters in the film. If you want to catch up on them, check out the clips. Bryan Singer’s next X-Men film will star a whole lot of A-listers, including Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender.
Even sooner than X-Men is another one of this year’s most-anticipated films – Godzilla. The reboot stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass). Gareth Edwards (Monsters) directs the film that has a viewable clip above as well as the entire movie in theaters starting today! I am extremely excited for this one (if you can’t tell).
Sticking to the theme of major releases and the month of May, I’ve embedded two new clips for Disney’s Maleficent. The live-action film tells the tale of the Sleeping Beauty villain and comes out May 30th. Robert Stromberg makes his directorial debut with Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning (Super 8), and Sharlto Copley (Elysium) starring. Watch the clips above.
The first clip I’ve seen for Jupiter Ascending also released online. Most notably starring Channing Tatum (another example of an actor on a roll) and Mila Kunis, the action blockbuster is directed by the Wachowskis (The Matrix). This movie gets us out of the May streak in today’s post as the movie comes out July 18th. Check the clip out above if you want to get a look at Tatum’s moon boots.
Million Dollar Arm brings us back to the month of May with four new(ish) clips. Also put out by Disney, the baseball drama will tell the real-life story of an agent (played by Jon Hamm) looking for pitching prospects in India (better known for their cricket players). Million Dollar Arm is directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) and is available starting today.
David Michod’s newest film, The Rover, also debuted a new clip. Starring names like Guy Pearce (Memento) and Robert Pattinson has me excited. However, it’s Michod’s name (he’s the one that directed the acclaimed film Animal Kingdom) that has me the most excited. This crime drama definitely has a dystopian feel to it. The clip is above and the film plays Cannes this weekend before getting a U.S. release date later on.
To finish things off, I’ve attached a clip I found for Captives. I didn’t know a lot about this film before, but I do remember seeing Ryan Reynold’s name attached before. Atom Egoyan (The Sweet Hereafter) directed the Canadian thriller. If you’d like to see part of the movie (which is also playing at Cannes), check it out above. This one hits theaters June 10th.
Have a great weekend everyone!
