Trailer Round-Up: The Equalizer, Annie, Earth to Echo, and More
As we turn the calendar to June (and come up on the halfway point in the year…already), it’s time to turn your attention to future movies. In today’s Trailer Round-Up, you can see the newest looks at movies releasing both near and far. In all, today’s post includes trailers for The Equalizer, Annie, Earth to Echo, Kill the Messenger, Life of Crime, Begin Again, and This is Where I Leave You.
Each trailer is below with info on the director, stars, and release date.
The first trailer for The Equalizer is probably the biggest trailer release of the week. The movie stars the always fun Denzel Washington, but the cast also includes Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) and Melissa Leo. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) directs the upcoming thriller that is set to release September 26th.
The next trailer belongs to the movie Annie – Will Gluck’s (Easy A) film adaptation of the famous musical. Annie stars Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and my favorite of the bunch (and hardest to spell), Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild). This musical hits theaters December 19th.
Dave Green’s sci-fi adventure, Earth to Echo, also released another trailer. This will likely be one of our last looks at the movie (which stars newcomers Teo Halm and Brian Bradley) before it comes out July 2nd. Check out the newest trailer!
Kill the Messenger, on the other hand, may be a movie you haven’t heard about. It is directed by Michael Cuesta, a man that is probably better known for his work in TV (like Showtime’s Dexter and Homeland), but he’ll be jumping back to the big-screen for this crime drama. It is also worth mentioning that the movie stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers). Take a gander at the trailer above before the movie releases October 10th.
I’ve also embedded a trailer for Life of Crime. This one is directed by Daniel Schechter (Supporting Characters) with Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), and Isla Fisher (Now You See Me) starring. Again, I’d check this one out if you can! The movie releases August 29th.
This past weekend I caught the newest trailer for the musical rom-com Begin Again. With a cast that includes Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, and even Adam Levine, I wouldn’t blame you for being excited. However, I’m excited because filmmaker John Carney (Once) is directing. The trailer is above and the movie comes out June 27th.
Finally, you can watch the trailer for Shawn Levy’s (The Internship) This is Where I Leave You. The comedy stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, and Adam Driver (among others). I didn’t know too much about this film, so a viewing of the trailer was definitely in order. This is Where I Leave You comes out September 12th.
Come on back tomorrow to see the newest posters.
