Photo Mania: Transformers: Age of Extinction, Guardians of the Galaxy, and More
In today’s Photo Mania, you can get new photos for some of this year’s biggest blockbusters (Transformers: Age of Extinction, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Tammy) as well a couple for next year (Fifty Shades of Grey and The Wedding Ringer). In between, you can check out new photos for The Drop and Da Sweet Blood of Jesus.
You can also check out Monday’s trailers and yesterday’s posters!
With a release this weekend, Transformers: Age of Extinction is closer than ever. Before you check out Michael Bay’s fourth installment, you should head down to the gallery to check out the newest stills. The movie, as you can see, stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, and some sweet Dinobots (that apparently breathe fire). The movie comes out June 27th. (Source: Collider)
About a month after Transformers is Marvel’s next film, Guardians of the Galaxy. They released some pictures online of the newest superhero franchise (which is a relatively new entity in and of itself). Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper, this one hits theaters August 1st. It is directed by James Gunn (Super). (Source: Marvel)
Fifty Shades of Grey, which still doesn’t release until February 13, 2015, unveiled one of its first official looks. There still isn’t a lot to see from the picture (above) but it does give us another look at star Jamie Dornan (ABC’s Once Upon a Time). In the film, he’s joined by Dakota Johnson (The Social Network) and directed by Sam Taylor-Wood (Nowhere Boy). (Source: Facebook)
A full gallery also released for Ben Falcone’s directorial debut, Tammy. This comedy stars his wife, and Bridesmaids co-star, Melissa McCarthy. She’s joined by Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, and even Dan Aykroyd. Tammy graces theaters starting July 2nd. (Source: Comingsoon)
Michael R. Roskam’s (Bullhead) crime-drama The Drop unveiled six new photos as well. Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) topline the cast that includes the late James Gandolfini. Check out the gallery below for the film that releases for good on September 12th. (Source: Collider)
I’ll be honest: I hadn’t heard of Spike Lee’s (Oldboy) Da Sweet Blood of Jesus before this week. You can’t glean a lot from the picture released this week, but this one is billed as an independent romantic horror comedy. It was also funded through Kickstarter, so it surely sounds unique. This one stars Felicia Pearson (HBO’s The Wire) and premiered this week at the American Black Film Festival. Hopefully it’ll get a theatrical release soon. (Source: IndieWire)
To close things out, feast your eyes on the first three images for The Wedding Ringer. Jeremy Garelick’s comedy stars Kevin Hart and Josh Gad (Frozen), which is quite the combination if I say so myself. Hart’s character apparently runs a best man service for socially awkward grooms. This one has shades of I Love You, Man, which is undoubtedly a good thing. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t release until January 16, 2015. (Source: USA Today)
