Sandrine’s Favorite LA Film Fest 2014 Films and Recap
The 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival has officially come to an end. Unfortunately due to sickness, a press screening being cancelled and downtown being blocked off for an event, this year didn’t yield as many screenings as I would have liked. I ended up only seeing four movies, which is disappointing since I wanted to see at least four more. But the good news is, I enjoyed all of the ones I did get to see.
And so it’s time for my usual final recap to tell you about this year’s films. Below you will find the list of all the films that I saw at the festival in order of preference (the titles link to the review for the films):
1) Meet the Patels – I think this might be the first year that a documentary takes the number 1 spot on my list, but Meet The Patels definitely deserves that spot. Such a humorous and wonderful documentary about finding love.
2) Dear White People – Wonderful satire film about four black students in an Ivy league University.
3) They Came Together – An original parody of romantic comedies featuring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler as our main couple.
4) Echo Park – A beautiful look at a slice of life and the choices we make.
And that wraps up 2014! Thanks again for jointing us and hope 2015 will yield even more movies to see.
