Poster Mania: Guardians of the Galaxy, Gone Girl, The Purge: Anarchy, More
Coming off yesterday’s Trailer Round-Up, today’s Poster Mania is a full new crop of films! I tried my hardest to balance this summer’s films (including Guardians of the Galaxy, The Purge: Anarchy, Sex Tape, and Magic in the Moonlight) with later releases (including Gone Girl, The Captive, and The Best Of Me)
Check out each poster and gallery below.
James Gunn (Super), the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, tweeted out three new posters. They show off Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) who will join star Chris Pratt. Check out the posters before this one releases August 1st. (Source: Twitter)
Four new posters also came out for Gone Girl, David Fincher’s (The Social Network) next film, before the newest trailer. Having finished the book two days ago (something I’d suggest you do soon), these clues do play an intricate part in the movie’s twisty-twervy plot. Gone Girl, which was written by the novelist Gillian Flynn, stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike (The World’s End). Look for this one come October 3rd and check back next week for the newest trailer. I’ve also attached a new gallery for James DeMonaco’s sequel The Purge: Anarchy. This one releases a lot sooner (July 18th) and brings in new blood, like Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Zach Gilford (NBC’s Friday Night Lights), and Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire). Check out the gallery below! (Source: FirstShowing)
I also found a poster for Jake Kasdan’s (Bad Teacher) raunchy comedy Sex Tape. This film features Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel making a, well you guessed it, sex tape. When the tape gets uploaded into the cloud (what they’re sure reacting to), it becomes a race to destroy the evidence. Look for this film starting July 18th as well. (Source: Collider)
A new poster (although it is similar to this one) also released for Magic in the Moonlight. For those that don’t know, this comedy is the latest from Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris) and stars Colin Firth and Emma Stone. Sony Picture Classics will be releasing this one on July 25th, a week after The Purge and Sex Tape. (Source: Collider)
The Captive – a film by Atom Egoyan (Devil’s Knot) – released a white-dominated poster, too. Although it is still without a release date here in the U.S. (the poster has an international date), I did want to point out the new poster. Ryan Reynolds, Rosario Dawson (Trance), and Mireille Enos (World War Z) are among the stars in this one. (Source: Yahoo)
To finish things off, I’ve included a poster for The Best Of Me. The romantic drama is the latest reminder that Nicholas Sparks is a big deal in Hollywood. Michael Hoffman (Gambit) directs the movie that stars James Marsden (X-Men) and Michelle Monaghan (Source Code) and comes out October 17th. I’m practically counting down the days.
