Photo Mania: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Guardians of the Galaxy, and More
Hello and welcome to yet another Photo Mania. In this week’s edition, I’ll be treating to you to the first official image of Henry Cavill in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (sporting a little title change you may have noticed). I also have photo for some of this year’s upcoming blockbusters, like Guardians of the Galaxy and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. To balance things out, I’ve included new photos for some comedies (Horrible Bosses 2, Sex Tape), a biopic (Miles Ahead), and an indie film (I Origins).
All of these are photos are viewable below!
Perhaps the most exciting photo of the week goes to 2016’s blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. At this point, fans are excited for just about anything relating to Zack Snyder’s follow-up (and prequel for a Justice League film). I’d expect to see more come Comic-Con this year; however, this new photo of Henry Cavill will have to do. As you may (or may not) be able to tell, Superman’s suit underwent a few moderations. We’ll see if his character, who will be joined by Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot (The Fast and the Furious), undergoes any moderations come May 6, 2016. (Source: Facebook)
Switching sides now, I also included a gallery for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It is no secret Marvel is winning the superhero race and they look to further the gap this August when they introduce more key parts going forward. These key parts are the called the Guardians of the Galaxy, led by Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana (Avatar), and Bradley Cooper. The gallery is below and James Gunn’s (Super) film comes out August 1st. You can also check out yesterday’s posters here. (Source: Empire)
Two new photos were sent to us for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, too. This one doesn’t really fall into the DC vs. Marvel debate, but it does give us another comic book-inspired movie. The Sin City sequel will again be directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez. It’ll also return Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Willis, while adding Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Eva Green. Look for this film on August 22nd.
Along with the first teaser came the first two photos for Horrible Bosses 2. The point of the photos is to show off the new cast members- which includes Christoph Waltz and Chris Pine – while showing us the returners (Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, and Jason Bateman). Sean Anders (That’s My Boy) takes over the directing chair and this one is set to release November 26th. (Source: Flicks and Bits)
Keeping in the comedy genre, the biggest gallery (ten photos) this week is for Sex Tape. Jake Kasdan’s (Bad Teacher) raunchy comedy sees Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz making a sex tape and then trying to destroy it when it goes viral. The premise has potential – although I could see it being very bad as well – so we’ll see come July 18th. Check out the photos in full below as well as yesterday’s poster. (Source: Collider)
The debut photo for Miles Ahead was one of the more exciting new photos of the week. It gives us our first official look at Don Cheadle (Iron-Man 3) not looking like Don Cheadle. He’s dressed up this way because he is portraying jazz juggernaut Miles Davis. Cheadle not only stars but he’ll direct the movie that currently doesn’t have a release date. (Source: IndieWire)
I Origins rounds out this week with six new photos. This indie film reunites Before Earth’s Brit Marling and Mike Cahill (who directs this one). Michael Pitt (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) is also starring in the sci-fi film that debuted earlier this year at Sundance. Check out this movie alongside Sex Tape (a weird combination, I know) when it releases theatrically July 18th. (Source: Collider)
