Clip Mania: Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Purge: Anarchy, Lucy, and More
Happy Friday! Here at Film Equals that means it is time for seven more movies with new clips. Below you’ll find clip(s) for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Purge: Anarchy, Lucy, Sex Tape, and Honour. Like always, I’ve featured a couple movies (Boyhood and Affluenza) that come out this weekend, too.
Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are back at it come August. The two directed a sequel to Sin City – titled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For – that’ll return a lot of the gang (like Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Willis). Alba is the focus of the newest clip that is viewable above. Check the full movie out August 22nd.
Next sequel up! The Purge: Anarchy, which is set to release on July 18th, released two clips for you above. Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Zach Gilford (NBC’s Friday Night Lights), and Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire) join the new cast. Fans of the first film will be happy James DeMonaco is back to direct this one. Check out the clips above.
I also wanted to share a red-band clip for the upcoming action superhero pic Lucy. Superhero alums Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman headline this one that’s due out a week after The Purge on July 25th. Luc Besson (Taken 2) directed the movie.
Jake Kasdan’s (Bad Teacher) Sex Tape has been on a roll this week (check out the new poster and photos here), so why stop there, right? Three new clips are above that show extended looks at some of the bits in the various trailers. The Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz-fronted comedy comes out July 18th as well.
Out this weekend is Richard Linklater’s (Before Sunrise) sprawling drama Boyhood. Taking 12 years to film, the premise seems unlike much we’ve seen come through the Hollywood pipeline. Boyhood, which releases limitedly this weekend and wider next weekend, stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette (True Romance). Watch it this weekend (if you’re lucky)!
Shan Khan’s feature debut Honour also showed off a new clip recently. The thriller stars Paddy Considine (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Aiysha Hart (BBC’s Atlantis). As of now, there is no U.S. release date, but I expect that to change.
Kevin Asch’s (Holy Rollers) Affluenza – the second movie on today’s post that comes out this weekend – unveiled a last-second clip. The drama about a young photographer caught up in some bad stuff stars Ben Rosenfield (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), Gregg Sulkin (Sixty Six), and Nicola Peltz (Transformers: Age of Extinction). Check out the clip and movie now!
Have a great weekend everyone!
