Poster Mania: The Expendables 3, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and More
After yesterday’s Trailer Round-Up, today is a new day with six out of seven films being different from yesterday. Below you’ll find a spiffy motion poster for The Expendables 3 as well as regular posters for Exodus: Gods and Kings, The Purge: Anarchy, Horns, About Alex, Tusk, and Starred Up.
Along with each poster is a little bit of information about each movie, including director, stars, and its respective release date.
Motion posters have really taken off lately. Some of them are better than others, but could you think of a movie that needs it more than The Expendables 3? Yeah…me neither. Patrick Hughes’ (Red Hill) action extraordinaire stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, and more when it comes out August 15th.
Alongside its trailer debut, a poster also released for Ridley Scott’s (Prometheus) Exodus: Gods and Kings. Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty) headline the film and can be seen in the poster. The biblical epic hits theaters on December 12th. (Source: Yahoo)
Just like last week, The Purge: Anarchy continues its marketing. That marketing will come to end by this weekend, though, since James DeMonaco’s sequel hits theaters starting July 18th. This one brings in new blood, including Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Zach Gilford (NBC’s Friday Night Lights), and Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire). Check out the banner above. (Source: Comingsoon)
Alexandre Aja’s (Mirrors) next horror film, Horns, released a poster, too. People may know this simply as the movie that shows Daniel Radcliffe growing mysterious horns. In the poster, you’ll see Radcliffe’s character questioned as possibly being the devil. Horns also stars Juno Temple (Afternoon Delight) and Heather Graham (Boogie Nights). So far this one doesn’t have a release date but expect that to change. (Source: Empire)
I also found a poster for About Alex floating around Twitter last week. For those that don’t know, About Alex is directed by Jesse Zwick (who is making his feature directorial debut) and stars Aubrey Plaza (Safety Not Guaranteed) and Maggie Grace (Taken). Check this film out starting August 8th. (Source: Twitter)
Kevin Smith (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) – one of those love-him-or-hate-him type of director – unveiled his newest poster as well. Smith will be directing a project called Tusk and this particular movie will fit in the horror genre. Tusk stars Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) and Justin Long (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story). Unfortunately, this one doesn’t have a release date quite yet. (Source: Comingsoon)
Finally, I have a poster for Starred Up as well. David Mackenzie (You Instead) will dabble in the prison genre with this one. It’ll star Jack O’Connell (Harry Brown), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), and Rupert Friend (Showtime’s Homeland) when it releases August 29th in limited theaters. Check out the poster above if you’re interested in the movie. (Source: Collider)
