Photo Mania: Guardians of the Galaxy, Fast & Furious 7, and More
On this week’s edition of Photo Mania, you have a bunch of exciting movies to look at. Each week seems special, but this week could be deemed extra special because of movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Fast & Furious 7, Exodus: Gods and Kings, The Purge: Anarchy, Unbroken, Lucy, and Into the Storm. These have varying release dates with some this weekend (The Purge) and some not until next year (Fast & Furious 7).
All of them have photos worth checking out below.
Two photos – both starring Michael Rooker (AMC’s The Walking Dead) – released for James Gunn’s (Super) Guardians of the Galaxy. This will be Marvel’s next superhero film and looks to be pretty dang exciting. It also stars Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper. Check the film out August 1st. (Source: USA Today)
James Wan’s (The Conjuring) Fast & Furious 7 has had a very rocky production due, unfortunately, to the death of star Paul Walker. After reworking the story and pushing the movie back, production finally wrapped recently. Star Vin Diesel shared the photo above as both a celebration of the end of filming and the celebration of Walker’s life. They say pictures are worth a thousand words and that is definitely true for this one. The 7th installment hits theaters April 3, 2015. (Source: Facebook)
Completing the famous (okay, maybe not famous) Film Equals trifecta is Exodus: Gods and Kings. Ridley Scott’s (The Counselor) biblical epic first had a trailer, then a poster, and now a gallery of five new photos (below). The movie most notably stars Christian Bale, but Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Aaron Paul (AMC’s Breaking Bad), and Ben Kingsley also are involved. Expect a lot more from this film before its December 12th release date. (Source: IndieWire)
Before its release on Friday (July 18th), I’ve got you covered with ten new photos for The Purge: Anarchy. James DeMonaco’s follow-up to the commercial hit The Purge brings in new blood (no pun intended) with Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Zach Gilford (NBC’s Friday Night Lights). You can check out all the photos below. (Source: Collider)
Following the first full-length trailer for Unbroken, nine new photos were also shown off. This real-life story will focus on Louis Zamperini’s (R.I.P.) harrowing story. Angelina Jolie’s (In the Land of Blood and Honey) next directorial project lands in theaters on December 25th. Check out the full gallery below. (Source: Collider)
Following suit with the other galleries, ten photos also made their way online for Lucy. Luc Besson’s (Taken 2) superhero/action film stars (as you can see) Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman. Like The Purge, Lucy is coming out very soon, so you can check out the film on July 25th. (Source: IndieWire)
Finishing us out today are five photos for Into the Storm. To me, Into the Storm is a weird project because it looks like a technical marvel that could get old very quick. Like you, I’ll wait until August 8th to decide for myself when the movie releases. Steven Quale directs the movie that stars Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy) and Sarah Wayne Callies (AMC’s The Walking Dead). (Source: Rotten Tomatoes)
