Trailer Round-Up: Big Hero 6, Paradise Lost, Horns, Ouija, and More
Welcome to another week. While some of us make it back to work, the rest can check out the newest trailers. Like always, there is quite the variety to choose from. Whether you’re looking for one extreme (say, an animated superhero pic), you can check out Big Hero 6’s two trailers, or another extreme (horror films), you can check out Horns, Ouija, and/or Annabelle. The other two trailers are for Laggies and The One I Love.
All the trailers (and information about the movies) are below.
What a treat I have for you today. Not one, but two trailers (one being international) released for Disney and Marvel’s superhero collaboration Big Hero 6. Last week we found out the cast will include James Cromwell (FOX’s 24) and Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story). Check out the trailers for Don Hall and Chris Millers’ animated pic before the movie releases on November 7, 2014.
Andrea Di Stefano’s French-American film Paradise Lost showed off its first teaser this past week. The film is noteworthy because it has Benicio del Toro portraying the notorious druglord Pablo Escobar. Also, Josh Hutcherson will play his son in the film that could make waves when it releases. Unfortunately, a firm U.S. date isn’t known yet.
Going along with last week’s poster was a trailer for Horns. For those that don’t know, Alexandre Aja’s (Mirrors) dark fantasy/horror film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a sort-of bad guy (we’ll see if he turns out to be the bad guy when all is said and done). The premise, and trailer, seem interesting, so make sure to check it out. Horns releases on October 31st.
Speaking of horror movies, I have the latest trailer for Ouija, which I can safely say I’ll never see. However, just because I’m afraid of scary movies doesn’t mean you should be, too. If you’re into horror movies, watch the trailer that features stars Douglas Smith (HBO’s Big Love) and Olivia Cooke (The Quiet Ones) above. Ouija is directed by Stiles White and releases a week before Halloween on October 24th.
Also releasing in October is The Conjuring spin-off Annabelle (directed by The Butterfly Effect 2’s John R. Leonetti). As this one gears up for its October 3rd playdate, a new teaser trailer was unveiled. The movie stars Annabelle Wallis (Showtime’s The Tudors) and Eric Ladin (AMC’s The Killing) but again looks like a film I can’t quite stomach. Judge for yourself!
Getting back to some lighter stuff, I did want to add Laggies to this week’s post. Lynn Shelton (Humpday) really impressed me with Your Sister’s Sister a few years back. So much so that I’ve been waiting to see if she can replicate that movie. The comedy-drama Laggies is her next chance and she’ll have the help of Keira Knightly, Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), and Sam Rockwell (Seven Psychopaths). This one hits theaters September 26th.
Today I’ll finish us off with the romantic drama The One I Love. Romantic dramas don’t always scream my name, but Elisabeth Moss (AMC’s Mad Men) and Mark Duplass (FX’s The League) have me excited for the potential. Charlie McDowell directs this movie that is due out already August 15th. Check out the trailer now.
Come back tomorrow for another Poster Mania.
