Clip Mania: Guardians of the Galaxy, Hercules, Lucy, and More
Happy Comic-Con Friday everyone! To go along with all the different pieces of exciting information coming out of San Diego, I have new clips for seven upcoming movies (including three releasing starting today). The movies featured are Guardians of the Galaxy, Hercules, Lucy, Magic in the Moonlight, Into the Storm, What If, and Life After Beth.
This has been quite the week for Guardians of the Galaxy (check out the newest posters and photos if you missed them) so naturally we’d get our first clips for the upcoming Marvel movie. Guardians of the Galaxy is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe August 1st; it stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana (Avatar), and Vin Diesel while being directed by James Gunn (Super). The three clips are above.
I also have three clips for Hercules, which happens to release this weekend already. Brett Ratner (Tower Heist) directs Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Hurt (V for Vendetta). If you’re wondering if you should see the movie, check out the three clips above.
Also on the docket this weekend is Lucy and I just so happened to have a clip for this one, too. The clip, and movie, stars Scarlett Johansson and seems to have an interesting concept. Check out the clip for Luc Besson’s (Taken 2) next film now.
Magic in the Moonlight is the final movie releasing this weekend with a new clip. The film stars Emma Stone, Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom). Woody Allen’s (Blue Jasmine) comedy is out in limited theaters now, so get a taste of the film with the last new clip.
We can add a new clip to Into the Storm’s repertoire (they also released one last week). Steven Quale’s disaster movie looks pretty intense and will destroy the screen starting August 8th. For those that don’t know, it stars Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) and Sarah Wayne Callies (AMC’s The Walking Dead).
Next, I have a new clip for the rom-com What If (also titled The F Word). I’m not too high on the premise, but stars Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), and Adam Driver (HBO’s Girls) have me interested in the project. The clip above features both Radcliffe and Driver’s characters. You can check out Michael Dowse’s (Goon) next film starting August 8th as well.
Finishing things out is a clip for Life After Beth. The zombie film also has some up-and-coming starpower behind it (Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan) so there is life behind this genre pic. Life After Beth is directed by Jeff Baena and is now available through Video On Demand services. It’ll have a traditional theatrical release starting August 15th.
Have a great weekend. Come back Monday for the new crop of trailers!
