Clip Mania: Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Maze Runner, and More
As we hit the weekend, I thought I’d again give you some last-minute looks at movies this weekend. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Are You Here, and Love is Strange release this weekend and have new clips. The Maze Runner, The Drop, Merry Friggin’ Christmas, and Hector and the Search for Happiness, though, don’t release this weekend and still have new clips.
Check out all the clips, then head over to this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and news breaks if you missed them.
First up is this weekend’s release of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The comic book-inspired movie returns directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller along with stars Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Josh Brolin, and many more also appear in the movie that has plenty of looks above and here. Have fun at the movie this weekend everyone!
We had a YA adaptation last weekend (The Giver), we’ve got one this weekend (If I Stay), and The Maze Runner is just around the corner. To get you ready, you can watch two clips for the movie that stars Dylan O’Brien (High Road) and Will Poulter (We’re the Millers). The two clips are above and the movie releases September 19th.
A week before The Maze Runner is Michael R. Roskam’s (Bullhead) crime-dama, The Drop. This one stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace (Prometheus), and the late James Gandolfini (in his last role). Watch the clips above and the full movie starting September 12th.
Merry Friggin’ Christmas has the unfortunate connection with The Drop because both have lost greats this year. This time around the clip is for a Robin Williams-starring movie (that is directed by TV director Tristram Shapeero). The comedy doesn’t release until November 7th but the clip is a refreshing look at one of the bests.
Also out this weekend is Matthew Weiner’s (AMC’s Mad Men) Are You Here. To be honest, I don’t know a lot about this comedy but the cast (which includes Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, and Owen Wilson) seems top-notch. Unfortunately, this one is out in limited release so the clip above may have to do for now.
Also out in limited release this weekend is Love is Strange. Ira Sachs directed stars John Lithgow (Showtime’s Dexter) and Alfred Molina (The Da Vinci Code) as a same-sex couple. It seems like a movie ripe with praise so hopefully this is the case. Watch the clip above for a glimpse at the drama.
Last, but certainly not least, is a clip for a movie called Hector and the Search for Happiness. Peter Chelsom’s (Hannah Montana: The Movie) British rom-com stars one of Britain’s most hilarious actors, Simon Pegg, and releases September 19th as well. Pegg is joined by Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day) and Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine), too. Watch the clip above.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
