Trailer Round-Up: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Fury, and More
In today’s Trailer Round-Up, we’ll most noticeably get a double helping of Jennifer Lawrence as her blockbuster The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and her long-awaited period drama Serena both released trailers (well, kind of). Besides those, I found new trailers for Fury, The Homesman, next year’s Maps to the Stars, The Judge, and next year’s The Boy Next Door.
As always, follow below to find each new trailer.
Okay so our first trailer isn’t really a trailer but I still wanted to include the trailer preview for the hotly-anticipated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. The movie will bring back most of the crew, including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson. Make sure to come back once the actual trailer releases (which should be later today sometime) because I’ll update the post accordingly. Francis Lawrence’s follow-up comes out for good on November 21st.
[Update: You can now check out the full-length trailer below]
The first full trailer I have for you is for David Ayer’s (End of Watch) Fury. This one stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena (Shooter), and more when it comes out October 17th. I’m more and more excited for this one so I’d check out the newest international trailer to get excited yourself.
Coming back around to J-Law, a new trailer released this past week for Serena starring her and Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper. What people don’t realize is this movie actually filmed before Silver Linings Playbook but has been on the shelf gestating for quite some time. Unfortunately, a U.S. release date is still undetermined but that’ll hopefully change soon. Until then, check out the trailer above.
The Western film The Homesman also debuted an interesting trailer. While I’m not a HUGE fan of Westerns, the fact that Tommy Lee Jones is involved as both director and star has me excited. The movie also features Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) and Meryl Streep. Watch the trailer above before catching the movie on November 7th.
David Cronenberg’s (Cosmopolis) satire Maps to the Stars recently announced it’ll release theatrically next year (there isn’t a specific date yet). However, this week they also showed off a trailer. In all, the movie stars Julianne Moore (Don Jon), Robert Pattinson, John Cusack, and more. If you’re in New York, try checking out the movie at the New York Film Festival later this month. For those that aren’t that lucky, watch the new trailer above.
Speaking of film festivals, The Judge released a new trailer off of its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Robert Downey, Jr.-starring comedy-drama is directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and comes out theatrically already October 10th. If you want to get a glimpse at some of the plot and the tone, make sure to watch the trailer above.
Again heading into next year, I wanted to end today with a trailer I found for The Boy Next Door. People may know this one as the thriller that’ll star Jennifer Lopez. Others may recognize this movie because it’s directed by Rob Cohen (Alex Cross). Watch the trailer above before seeing the movie on my birthday (January 23, 2015).
Come back tomorrow for the next Poster Mania.
