Poster Mania: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, and More
Following yesterday’s Jennifer Lawrence-filled Trailer Round-Up, today will again feature The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Serena. However, unlike yesterday, Luke Evans gets in on the action with a new banner for his The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and an IMAX poster for Dracula Untold. I’ve also got new posters for Annie, John Wick and Good Kill.
Check them all out below!
The first Jennifer Lawrence movie of the day – and probably the most anticipated movie of the rest of the year – is one of the last posters for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Although the new poster (which shows her from the front unlike last week’s poster) only features Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Woody Harrelson are among the returners. Director Francis Lawrence is also back as the film releases on November 21st. (Source: Comingsoon)
I also included a huge new banner for Peter Jackson’s third and final Hobbit film, titled The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The fantasy finale brings back a bunch of its stars as well, including Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Luke Evans, and Orlando Bloom when it hits theaters December 17th. Definitely check out the banner if you’re a fan of the movie! (Source: First Showing)
I hadn’t seen much for the musical Annie in awhile but, that changed last week when a new poster released. The movie features bigger names like Jamie Foxx and Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) but I’m most excited to see the supremely talented Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild). Check out the new poster before Will Gluck’s (Easy A) film releases December 19th. (Source: Fandango)
Next up is the new IMAX poster for Gary Shore’s Dracula Untold. This movie, which comes out October 10th and stars Luke Evans (speaking of The Hobbit), definitely has the source material. However, with Hollywood’s obsession with making and remaking everything, I could see this being a casualty when it finally does come out. Either way, enjoy the pretty cool poster above. Two posters released for Serena as well. This again shows off J-Law but she’s joined by Bradley Cooper (they recently worked together in Silver Linings Playbook) in the period drama. What people don’t realize is that this one has been on the horizon for awhile, having filmed even before Silver Linings Playbook. Hopefully we’ll get an actual release date for this soon. Until then, check out the two posters above for Susanne Bier’s (In a Better World) latest. (Source: IndieWire)
John Wick also released a poster. The Keanu Reeves-starring action thriller tells the story of an ex-hitman (Reeves) being tracked by an old friend. Reeves isn’t the only star, either, as both Willem Dafoe and Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) are worth mentioning. Reeves is alone in the simple poster above, however. David Leitch and Chad Stahelski co-directed this one and it should be out on October 24th. (Source: Collider)
Finishing us off today is another very simple poster – this time for Good Kill. It also looks a lot like today’s Annie poster (even if they are very different movies). Good Kill stars Ethan Hawke (The Purge), January Jones (AMC’s Mad Men), and Zoe Kravitz (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire). Andrew Niccol’s (The Host) film played at the Toronto International Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date. Check back for later. (Source: Collider)
