Poster Mania: Interstellar, Into the Woods, The Imitation Game, and More
Welcome to another Poster Mania. On this Tuesday’s edition, I’ve got six new movies to champion (compared to yesterday’s Trailer Round-Up). The only returner is A Most Violent Year so you can see that and Interstellar, Into the Woods, The Imitation Game, Insidious: Chapter 3, The Homesman, and Wolves below.
Stick around for some more information on each movie as well!
Four buzzy new posters came online for Christopher Nolan’s (The Dark Knight) latest, Interstellar. As you can see, the movie stars Matthew McConaughey but he looks to be taking a backseat to the visuals. The 2001: A Space Odyssey-like project also stars Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, and Michael Caine when it finally releases on November 7th. Check out all four photos in full below. Disney’s Into the Woods film adaptation also released a new one-sheet. The poster really only shows off Meryl Streep; however, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt (Looper), and Chris Pine are also featured in the musical. Check out the poster that was sent over above before Rob Marshall’s (Nine) film hits theaters on December 25th.
I also wanted to pass along a pretty cool international poster for The Imitation Game. Early word out the Toronto International Film Festival was positive (most notably for star Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance). The Alan Turing biopic also stars Keira Knightley (Begin Again) and is directed by Morten Tyldum (Headhunters). If you didn’t see the movie at TIFF, you can see it starting November 21st in the States. (Source: Empire)
Switching to the horror genre, I have a new text-heavy poster for Insidious: Chapter 3. The franchise film enlists the help of Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County) and Stefanie Scott (No Strings Attached). It also brings in a new director, Leigh Whannell (Saw), when it releases on May 29, 2015. Check out the first poster above. (Source: IGN)
Along with yesterday’s trailer (and the annoucement that the project will come out in limited thaters on Decemer 31st), I’ve attached a new poster for A Most Violent Year. J.C. Chandor (All is Lost) directs the movie that also stars Jessica Chastain (speaking Interstellar) and Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis). Go ahead and check out the poster above. The Homesman is up next as a new poster released this week for the western. Not only does Tommy Lee Jones star in the movie but he’ll direct himself, Hilary Swank (Insomnia), and more come November 7th. If you’d like to get a glimpse of the film adaptation, check it out above. (Source: Huffington Post)
Wolves may not be the most recognizable movie on today’s post. However, I did want to show off the new poster because it could appeal to some of you. As for talent, the horror-thriller stars Jason Momoa (HBO’s Game of Thrones) and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) while being directed by David Hayter. Check out the new poster above for the November 14th-releasing film. (Source: Collider)
