Clip Mania: Fury, Birdman, Penguins of Madagascar, Book of Life, and More
Happy Friday folks! In today’s Clip Mania, I’ll start us off with two movies releasing next weekend, Fury and Birdman, before showing off a couple animated movies, Penguins of Madagascar and Book of Life (which, yes, releases next weekend as well), before finishing with Serena, Felony (which also releases next weekend), and Beyond the Lights.
If you want more from this week, check out Monday’s trailers, Tuesday’s posters, Wednesday’s photos, and yesterday’s News Round-Up.
The biggest release featured today also has the most movie clips. Five new clips are available above the David Ayer’s (End of Watch) Fury. The movie stars Brad Pitt, Michael Pena (Shooter), Shia LeBeouf, and more when it releases next weekend on October 17th. The WWII pic is poised to challenge Gone Girl for both October’s crown and possibly some awards at the end of the year. Watch the clips if you want to see some of the drama and intensity of the movie.
Not to be completely outdone by Fury, Alejandro Inarritu’s (Babel) comedy-drama added three new clips this week. Birdman stars Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton, and plenty more when it comes out next weekend on October 17th, too. If you’re in New York, you can see the movie starting this weekend at the New York Film Festival. Check out the clips above!
I also have a clip for the family animated film Penguins of Madagascar. The newest Madagascar film will follow the awesome penguins (voiced again by Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, and company) and is directed by Eric Darnell and Simon J. Smith. You can watch the clip above before seeing the movie November 26th.
Speaking of animated movies, I have a new clip for Book of Life, too. This one voice stars Diego Luna (Milk), Zoe Saldana, and Channing Tatum. Jorge R. Gutierrez directed the movie that’ll be about a fantastical world and a man facing his fears. Sounds like it has potential, right? Check out the clip above and the movie next weekend (on October 17th) as well.
Shifting quickly to next year, I included the newest clip for Serena. This period drama is the latest to co-star Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (who played alongside each other in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle). Serena is directed by Suzanne Biers (In a Better World) and will finally hit theaters February 26, 2015.
Back to the October 17th releases we go with a new clip for Felony. Before this week, I didn’t know a ton about this film but I did know that it starred Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty). What I didn’t know was that Edgerton wrote the screenplay and he’s joined onscreen by Jai Courtney (Live Free or Die Hard) and Tom Wilkinson (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Matthew Saville (Noise) directs the thriller.
Last up is Beyond the Lights. Coming out November 14th, this one stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Odd Thomas) and, more recognizably, Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting). This drama is about an up-and-coming artist struggling with her new-found success. Watch the clip above if you’re interested in the movie.
Have a great weekend!
