Trailer Round-Up: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Nightcrawler, and More
Welcome back from the weekend! Today’s Trailer Round-Up is all over the place. Not only do I have the debut teaser for Avengers: Age of Ultron (the reason a lot of people are here) but I’ve also included an upcoming film (Nightcrawler) while trying to touch on everything from horror films (Insidious: Chapter 3, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death) to documentaries (Happy Valley). I’ve also got a new trailer for The Gambler and Suite Francaise.
Check out each trailer below.
The anticipated teaser debut for Avengers: Age of Ultron is finally upon us. After the trailer leaked early, Marvel decided to release the trailer rather than wait. Check it out above if you want to see all your favorite Avengers. The second Avengers film is again directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, and the lot when it releases May 1, 2015.
With its debut already this weekend (on October 31st), the final red-band trailer released for Nightcrawler. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Bill Paxton (Apollo 13), the crime thriller tells the story of an underground crime journalist (Gyllenhaal) and looks like quite the performance. This also marks Dan Gilroy’s directorial debut.
I’ve also included a red-band trailer for next year’s The Gambler. Just like Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler, The Gambler sees its star (Mark Wahlberg) losing a ton of weight. Rupert Wyatt’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) remake also stars Brie Larson (21 Jump Street) and Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire). Watch the new trailer above before the full movie debuts on January 2, 2015.
Switching to the horror genre, the first new horror trailer belongs to Insidious: Chapter 3. Leigh Whannell will again direct the franchise film that’ll star both Dermot Mulroney (Young Guns) and Stafanie Scott (No Strings Attached). Like a couple of the other films today, this one won’t release until next year on May 29, 2015.
Tom Harper’s (Peaky Blinders) horror/thriller The Woman in Black: Angel of Death also released a new trailer. Although it doesn’t bring back a big name like Daniel Radcliffe, Angel of Death does feature Jeremy Irvine (The Railway Man) and Helen McCrory (Skyfall). This one releases January 2, 2015 as well.
Saul Dibb’s (The Duchess) war drama Suite Francaise debuted a new trailer yesterday. It’ll star Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Michelle Williams (Shutter Island) when it debuts already on November 5th. If you’re interested in the trailer, check it out above.
Like I mentioned earlier, this week is all over the board when it comes to variety. Today I’ll finish it out with a trailer for the documentary Happy Valley. Amir Bar-Lev’s (The Tillman Story) doc focuses on the sexual abuse scandal that rocked Penn State back in 2011. For some, this heartbreaking story will be hard to watch. However, for those wanting to get more details on the series of events, check out the trailer above and the full movie on November 14th.
