Trailer Round-Up: Insurgent, Fifty Shades of Grey, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and More
Happy Monday! As you trudge through the day, I’ve got some new movie trailers for you to check out. Below you can find the first teaser for Insurgent as well as the second trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey. I’ve also included the newest from Night at the Museum 2: Secret of the Tomb, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, The Imitation Game, The Cobbler, and Escobar: Paradise Lost.
Check out all the trailers below.
2015 is going to be quite the year for movies. Robert Schwentke’s (The Time Traveler’s Wife) Insurgent – the sequel to last year’s Divergent – undoubtedly is getting lost in the shuffle. However, fans of the franchise can look for the second film in the franchise come March 20, 2015. It’ll again star Shailene Woodley and Theo James and you can get the first teaser for the film above. Check it out!
I also have a new trailer for the hotly-anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey. I personally have no interest in seeing this movie but I figured I’d still attach it for those who are interested. The film adaptation stars Dakota Johnson (The Social Network) and Jamie Dornan (BBC’s The Fall). It’s directed by Sam Taylor-Wood (Nowhere Boy) and will release on February 13th.
Nothing like going from Fifty Shades of Grey to Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. That’s the case today, though, as the family film released a new trailer. The sequel will again be directed by Shawn Levy and star Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Ben Kingsley, and more. Check the trailer out above and the movie starting December 19th.
Next up is the debut trailer for Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. I still haven’t seen the first movie (and quite frankly, don’t plan on it). Still, the newest trailer is above and shows star Kevin James making his way to the big time – Las Vegas. James is joined by Molly Shannon (Bad Teacher) and Neal McDonough (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) in the movie that’ll release April 17, 2015. Andy Fickman (She’s the Man) directed the sequel.
The Imitation Game, unlike the other movies featured so far, is out this month. Releasing in theaters on November 28th, Morten Tyldum’s (Headhunters) Alan Turing biopic most notably stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. I’m excited to see if Cumberbatch can break into the awards picture (finally!) with this project. The trailer is above!
I also have a new trailer for Thomas McCarthy’s (The Station Agent) upcoming comedy-drama The Cobbler. Based on the trailer, this seems like a really weird movie. However, I’m a huge fan of McCarthy’s filmography so far, making me look forward to seeing this pic. The Cobbler stars Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman, and Steve Buscemi and is still awaiting a release date. Check out the trailer above.
Lastly, I have a trailer for Andrea Di Stefano’s directorial debut, Escobar: Paradise Lost. The drama partly focuses on the life of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (played by Benecio del Toro). However, the movie isn’t a straight biopic and features a plot that deals heavily with a surfer (played by Josh Hutcherson) that falls in love with Escobar’s niece. The movie releases on January 16, 2015 in the U.S. Watch the trailer above if you’re interested.
