Clip Mania: Unbroken, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Inherent Vice, and More
Happy Friday everyone! Coming off a busy week (of trailers, posters, photos, and news updates), today will be all about the new clips. There are some great movies featured today (all of which come out during the final month of the year). These movies include Unbroken, Into the Woods, Annie, and A Most Violent Year. To give you a preview of this weekend in particular, I have new clips for Exodus: Gods and Kings, Inherent Vice, and The Captive.
All the clips are below!
One of this year’s most exciting films still to come out is Angelina Jolie’s (In the Land of Blood and Honey) WWII drama Unbroken. Based on an incredible true story, the movie follows the struggles of former Olympian Louis Zamperini. It stars Jack O’Connell (Starred Up), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter), and Jai Courtney (Divergent). To get ready, check out the six new clips above! Watch for the movie December 25th as well.
Out this weekend is Ridley Scott’s (Prometheus) Exodus: Gods and Kings. The biblical epic stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), and Aaron Paul (AMC’s Breaking Bad). If you’re wanting to get one more glimpse at the movie before heading to the theaters, check out the lone clip above!
Inherent Vice is also out this weekend (unfortunately in limited theaters). To get you ready (or more excited) to see the movie, I’ve included all the clips I could find. Paul Thomas Anderson’s (There Will Be Blood) seventh feature film stars Joaquin Phoenix (who just picked up a Golden Globe nomination), Josh Brolin, and Owen Wilson. Check the clips out above.
To start our run of musicals, I’ve attached the latest clip for Disney’s Into the Woods adaptation above. The movie stars everyone from Anna Kendrick (who has proven herself as quite the singer) to Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp (who plays the Big Bad Wolf). Like Unbroken, Rob Marshall’s (Chicago) movie debuts December 25th.
Annie, another musical, also released some new clips. Based on the 1977 musical, this film adaptation stars the always adorable Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) alongside Jamie Foxx and Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids). Will Gluck (Easy A) directs the movie that’ll release next weekend on December 19th.
The latest release of all – J.C. Chandor’s (All is Lost) A Most Violent Year – also uploaded a new clip this past week. With a cast that includes Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) and Jessica Chastain, I wouldn’t blame you for being excited about this crime drama. Chandor has proven himself to be a director to watch and by the looks of this one, he doesn’t disappoint. Look for A Most Violent Year in limited theaters starting December 31st before getting a wider release after the New Year.
The final movie featured today is the third one that releases this weekend. Titled The Captive (and directed by Chloe’s Atom Egoyan), it tells the story of trained soldier sent to track down the President’s kidnapped daughter. If the premise isn’t enough, does it help that Ryan Reynolds is in it? Check out the clip above if you’re interested in the movie.
Have a great weekend!
