Trailer Round-Up: Insurgent, Mad Max: Fury Road, and More
Happy Monday everyone! In today’s post, you’ll find the newest trailers from the past week. The most notable ones definitely belong to Insurgent (the sequel to this year’s Divergent) and Mad Max: Fury Road. Besides those two, I wanted to also attach trailers for Inside Out, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Walk, and San Andreas.
Each trailer can be seen below!
Turns out last week’s new Insurgent photo was just a sign of things to come. The first full-length trailer for the YA adaptation hit theaters late last week. It does a good job of picking up the pieces from the first installment and setting up things to come. Insurgent returns a lot of the talent (including Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, and Miles Teller). However, fans of the direction will have to deal with Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler’s Wife) this time around. Franchise film number two debuts on March 20, 2015.
Mad Max: Fury Road also released its first full-length trailer. This marks George Miller’s fourth foray into the franchise (which I’ve unfortunately never seen) and Fury Road is set to come out on May 15, 2015. This time around, though, he’ll deal with a new cast that is headlined by Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class). If you’re a fan of the franchise or just want to see a new trailer, check it out above.
Speaking of firsts, the premiere trailer for Pixar’s latest, Inside Out, also released. Pete Docter’s (Up) animated movie voice stars Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, and comedian Lewis Black as emotions inside the head of a girl sent to live in a new city. It sounds like a premise right up Pixar’s alley as the movie will deal with trying to stay positive. If you want more from the movie, the trailer is above and the full movie graces theaters on June 19, 2015.
Switching to the comedies, first up is the newest trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2. I admittedly haven’t seen the first Time Machine film but have heard surprisingly good things about it. I’ll have to try to see it before the sequel comes out on February 20, 2015. It is again directed by Steve Pink and stars Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry.
Although it’s not top-billed as a comedy, Matthew Vaughn’s (X-Men: First Class) film Kingsman: The Secret Service certainly seems pretty funny. It’s latest red-band trailer (above) looks most like Kick-Ass (which definitely could be taken as a compliment). Kingsman stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Caine with a release date set for February 13, 2015.
I’ve also got the first trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ (Flight) The Walk for you. Not heard of The Walk? Well, like the trailer shows, it’s the story of the epic highwire stunt between the World Trade Centers back in the 1990s. This version (not to be confused with the must-see documentary Man on Wire) is technically considered a fictional story but I’m excited nonetheless. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Kingsley and debuts October 2, 2015.
Finally, the first trailer for San Andreas debuted right after the first photos. The disaster flick is headlined by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and is directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island). To some, the trailer will remind you a lot of the film 2012 so beware! Check it out for yourself above before the movie hits theaters May 29, 2015.
