Photo Mania: Insurgent, Cinderella, American Sniper, and More
Happy hump day folks. To help you get over the hump, I’ve added a bunch of new movie photos. Below you can new looks at Insurgent (which released a new trailer and poster as well), Cinderella, American Sniper, The Gambler, True Story, and The Last Days in the Desert. I’ve included some concept art for The Jungle Book, too.
Check them all out below!
Robert Schwentke’s (The Time Traveler’s Wife) Insurgent followed up a new trailer and poster this week (not to mention a photo last week) with four new stills. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Divergent adaptation but there were definitely plenty of positives that lead me to believe in Insurgent. The second of four films stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James again and will hit theaters on March 20, 2015. All four photos are in the gallery below.
Disney’s live-action Cinderella also released some new stills. Like you’d expect, they mostly focuses on Cinderella herself (played by Lily James). However, the costume design looks to be on point and it’s easy to see why people would be excited about its release a week before Insurgent on March 13, 2015. Kenneth Branagh (Thor) directed the movie and the five new photos are below. (Source: Comingsoon)
Shifting back to this year, I’ve included a gallery of ten new photos for Clint Eastwood’s (Jersey Boys) second film of the year, American Sniper. Pre-release buzz has treated this war film (based on the true story of America’s most lethal sniper) well. For those that don’t know, it’s headlined by Bradley Cooper and releases in limited theaters on December 25th. Check the photos out in full below! (Source: Comingsoon)
Next up is Rupert Wyatt’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) drama The Gambler. Like American Sniper, this one will have a qualifying run in limited theaters starting December 25th and look to gain some awards buzz. We’ll have to wait to see how this ultimately fares for the movie but, until then, check out the four new photos below. As you can tell, the movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire), and John Goodman. (Source: /Film)
To change things up, I’ve also uploaded some concept art for Jon Favreau’s (Chef) remake of The Jungle Book. Set to debut on October 9, 2015, the Disney-funded project has an impressive voice cast that includes Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba (Pacific Rim), and Scarlett Johansson. There’s not too much to see so far but it’s still something! (Source: Comingsoon)
Just like last week, there are some more Sundance films to feature. Today, you can find three photos for a film titled True Story. With a cast that includes Jonah Hill and James Franco, you’d think this wouldn’t be a Sundance film. You’d also expect the movie to be a comedy which it most definitely isn’t. Expect to hear things about Rupert Goold’s drama (including a theatrical release date) after it hits Sundance next month. (Source: Collider)
Last up is a new photo belonging to Last Days in the Desert. Headlined by Ewan McGregor (the only one in the photo above), the Sundance pic will focus on Jesus Christ’s forty days and forty nights journey. I’m interested in the movie, to say the least, but we’ll need some more time to get a clearer look at Rodrigo Garcia’s (Nine Lives) film. Expect to hear a release date later on once it gets acquired by a distributor.
