Clip Mania: Taken 3, American Sniper, Big Eyes, and More
Happy Friday! In the last post before a little holiday hiatus, I’ve got seven new movies with at least one new clip. Those movies range from this year – American Sniper, Big Eyes, and Selma – to next – Taken 3, The Wedding Ringer, Absolutely Anything, and The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.
If you missed this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and news breaks, check those out, too.
First up is the first clip for next year’s release of Taken 3. Olivier Megaton again directs the movie with Liam Neeson starring. As the clip shows, the third Taken movie picked up actor Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) as a villain of sorts. Taken 3 releases January 9, 2015 here in the U.S., so check out the clip above.
Before that, though, you should be able to catch Clint Eastwood’s war drama American Sniper. Although the movie has caught some people by surprise, it’s gained a lot of steam lately and could be an Academy Award contender. There are three clips above for the movie that stars Bradley Cooper and releases December 25th in limited theaters. Check them out!
Speaking of Christmas Day, Tim Burton’s (Alice in Wonderland) Big Eyes also comes out December 25th. To tout its upcoming release, a new clip also released online. Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz, and Jason Schwartzman (Saving Mr. Banks) star in the movie predominately about Margaret Keane (who is played by Adams). The clip is above for you.
Selma, yet another December 25 release, released two new clips this week as well. It’s amazing to me we haven’t really had a Martin Luther King, Jr.-centric story in Hollywood to date. This changes soon with the release of Ava DuVernay’s (This is the Life) movie. It stars David Oyelowo (The Butler) and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton).
Terry Jones’ (Monty Python and the Holy Grail) British comedy Absolutely Anything also unveiled a new clip (available above). This movie is notable because it’s Robin William’s final film role. Besides him, the movie stars Simon Pegg (The World’s End) and Kate Beckinsale. Check the clips out above and the full movie February 13, 2015.
Speaking of comedies, The Wedding Ringer debuted its first clip, too. Starring Josh Gad (Frozen), Kevin Hart, and Kaley Cuoco (CBS’ The Big Bang Theory), the movie has an I Love You, Man-like premise. For those that don’t know, Jeremy Garelick’s movie comes out January 16, 2015.
The Woman in Black: Angel of Death finishes us out today with three clips for the horror sequel. This time around the movie is directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders) and stars Phoebe Fox (A Poet in New York), Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), and Helen McCrory (Hugo). Check out the clips above now since the movie releases just around on the corner on January 2, 2015.
Happy holidays!
