Trailer Round-Up: Cinderella, Taken 3, In The Heart of the Sea, and More
After a little holiday hiatus, we’re back this week with a bunch of new trailers. With two weeks to choose from, the following trailers were the result of a busy holiday season of new releases. These trailers are for Cinderella, Taken 3, In the Heart of the Sea, Entourage, Focus, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and McFarland, USA.
Check all the trailers out below!
First up is the latest trailer for Disney’s live-action version of Cinderella. Starring Lily James (Wrath of the Titans), Richard Madden (HBO’s Game of Thrones), and, of course, Cate Blacnhett (as the evil stepmother). Kenneth Branagh’s (Thor) movie releases pretty early (March 13th) but I’d guess we’ll get at least one more trailer after the one above.
Olivier Megaton’s latest Taken film (simply titled Taken 3) also unveiled a new trailer. As the Christmas-themed preview shows, Liam Neeson is doing his best, well, Liam Neeson impression as he continues his tirade on terrorists (and this time the FBI). Watch it now before seeing the full movie this weekend starting January 9th.
One of my most anticipated movies that debuts in the first quarter of 2015 is Ron Howard’s (Rush) In the Heart of the Sea. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins), and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall). If you’re like me and are excited to see the movie on March 15th, check out the latest trailer above.
Fans of HBO’s Entourage rejoice! The long-awaited film adaptation finally has its first trailer! Set to release on June 5, 2015, the movie returns creator Doug Ellin as director and stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, and Jeremy Piven (among others). They’ll also be joined by some New England Patriot cameos (including star quarterback Tom Brady). The first trailer is available above!
Another trailer for Focus debuted as well. Will Smith headlines the project but I’m most excited for the movie because of his counterpart (and most definitely love interest) Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street). The con rom-com/drama (say that ten times fast) is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (I Love You Phillip Morris) and comes out February 27th. Again, the trailer is above.
Our only international trailer comes by the way of John Madden’s sequel The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Its latest UK trailer does a good job of setting the stage for what some would consider an unnecessary sequel. The first one (which also stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Bill Nighy) wasn’t an awards sweeper but it did well critically and commercially. We’ll see how the second one compares to the first on February 27th alongside Focus.
Lastly, above is a new trailer for the Kevin Costner-starring film McFarland, USA. The Disney pic also stars Mario Bello (Thank You For Smoking) and will tell the story of a track coach (Costner) who is inspired by his band of runners. The feel-good story is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider) and debuts a week before The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Focus on February 20th.
Thanks for stopping in. Come back tomorrow for some new movie posters.
