Poster Mania: Pixels, Focus, The Peanuts Movie, and More
After a short holiday hiatus, we started the week off normal yesterday with some new trailers. Similarly, I’ve collected some new posters for you. Among them are four for Pixels, two for Focus, banners for The Peanuts Movie and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and singular posters for Woman in Gold, Strange Magic, and The Longest Ride.
Each poster is available below along with information on each movie. Enjoy!
The most posters this week are for Chris Columbus’ (Mrs. Doubtfire) animated movie Pixels. If you haven’t heard a lot about this movie, it’s okay because names like Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage should (maybe) get you excited. With the success of last year’s The LEGO Movie, there’s no doubt Columbia Pictures is hoping for similar numbers. We’ll see come July 24th. Until then, check out all four new posters depicting classic video game characters below. (Source: Collider)
Along with its new trailer, I’ve attached two new posters for the con-man rom-com Focus. You may not know its a con pic by the posters but you can probably put two-and-two together to figure out stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) play potential love interests. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (I Love You Phillip Morris) direct the pic that’ll open February 27th. (Source: Facebook)
Steve Martino’s (Ice Age: Continental Drift) latest film, The Peanuts Movie, is the first movie today with a new banner. It’s a pretty simple one, too, simply announcing “Dream Big 2015” (which seems apt given the number of anticipated releases this year). The animated movie voice stars newcomers Noah Schnapp (as the iconic Charlie Brown), Hadley Belle Miller, and others with a release date currently set for November 6th. (Source: IMP Awards)
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (which also recently debuted a new trailer) debuted a new banner, too. John Madden’s sequel re-enlists the help of Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Bill Nighy while adding Richard Gere to its ensemble. The banner is above and the movie comes out February 27th alongside Focus. (Source: Screen Relish)
The Weinstein Company’s Woman in Gold also used the holiday season to unveil the first poster I’ve seen. Simon Curtis’ (My Week with Marilyn) British film stars Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, and Daniel Bruhl (Rush) when it releases April 3rd. Check out the poster above if you’re interested. (Source: THR)
I also have a poster the upcoming movie Strange Magic. For those that don’t know, the movie is based on a story by George Lucas (and is directed by sound designer Gary Rydstrom) and comes out already January 23rd. This movie is perhaps most noticeable because of its once unfounded connection to Frozen. Either way, the animated pic’s latest poster is above and it voice stars Evan Rachel Wood (The Ides of March) and Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids). (Source: Comingsoon)
Lastly, I’ve got a poster for The Longest Ride because, of course, we need another Nicholas Sparks adaptation. The movie itself stars Britt Robertson (CBS’ Under the Dome) and Scott Eastwood (Fury). Check the latest rom-com poster out above before the movie opens on April 10th. (Source: Comingsoon)
Come on back tomorrow for some new movie photos!
