Clip Mania: Minions, Taken 3, Paddington, The Wedding Ringer, and More
Following a busy week (check out this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and news breaks), I’ll finish today off with our usual Friday Clip Mania. Below, you can find clips for movies that come out this weekend (Taken 3 and Predestination) and beyond (Minions, Paddington, The Wedding Ringer, Blackhat, and Little Accidents).
Check them out in order of anticipation below.
The most anticipated movie on the list is undoubtedly Minions. The Despicable Me spin-off is co-directed by Pierre Coffin (who again will voice star as the minions themselves) and Kyle Balda. Normally I’m against cash-grabs but I love the minions so much and can’t wait to see this movie this summer starting July 10, 2015. Oh yeah, it’ll also voice star Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm. Check out the newest clip (which released over the holidays) above.
The third Taken film (simply titled Taken 3) comes out already today. If you’re interested in the movie (or on the fence about seeing it), I’ve attached a new clip for you. The only reason this franchise has been as lucrative as it has is simply because of Liam Neeson who again looks to be on-point. He’s joined by Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) and is again directed by Olivier Megaton.
In two weeks you’ll be able to check out Paddington, which just so happened to have released two new clips this past week. Originally slated to release on Christmas Day, the movie moved back to January 16 for whatever reason. It stars Hugh Bonneville (ITV’s Downton Abbey), Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), Nicole Kidman, and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall) as Paddington himself. The clips are above for you.
Also out on January 16th is the comedy The Wedding Ringer. I see some potential in this movie given its I Love You, Man-like premise and its funny cast (which includes Josh Gad, Kevin Hart, and Kaley Cuoco). Five new clips for Jeremy Garelick’s film are above.
Michael Mann’s (Heat) thriller Blackhat is the third movie on the crowded January 16th weekend. Starring Chris Hemsworth and Viola Davis, the movie focuses on an imprisoned hacker that’s used in an attempt to stop a cyber terrorist attack. By the looks of it, it could turn out to be decent and there’s six clips to help convince you. Check them out above!
The Spierig Brothers’ (Undead) Australian sci-fi pic, Predestination, revealed a new clip, too. The movie features Ethan Hawke as a time-traveling agent in what also seems like a pretty cool premise. If you’re interested, the movie releases in limited theaters this weekend.
Sara Colangelo’s upcoming Sundance movie Little Accidents officially closes us out with a new clip. Little Accidents is a thriller that focuses on a set of unfortunate accidents that are somehow strung together. I’m at least curious to see this movie but it doesn’t have a theatrical release yet. The clip above will have to do for now.
Have a great weekend!
