Trailer Round-Up: Ant-Man, The Peanuts Movie, Chappie, and More
Happy Monday everyone! In today’s Trailer Round-Up, there’s no doubt Marvel’s Ant-Man headlines things. However, there’s plenty more to see from upcoming 2015 movies, including the latest from The Peanuts Movie, Chappie, Accidental Love, The Voices, Maps to the Stars, and Big Game.
Check out each of the trailers below!
First and foremost, above is the first trailer for Marvel’s newest entity Ant-Man. Though it’s technically not Marvel’s next movie (that’s Avengers: Age of Ultron), it hopes to replicate last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy come July 17, 2015. Peyton Reed’s (Yes Man) movie stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly (The Hurt Locker) and I’d suggest watching the talked-about trailer above.
Though its not its debut trailer, there is a new look at The Peanuts Movie above. Steve Martino’s (Horton Hears a Who) movie may be full of lesser-known voice actors (like Noah Schnapp and Hadley Belle Miller) but it’s got the source material behind it. The trailer is above and the full movie debuts on November 6, 2015.
Neill Blompkamp’s (Elysium) latest sci-fi movie, Chappie, is definitely one of the more interesting pictures to release at the beginning of the new year. Out on March 6th, Chappie already seems to be dividing audiences and the newest trailer probably won’t help things. Check it out above – it stars Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel (HBO’s The Newsroom).
We can now move along to some lesser-known movies, even though the first one is for a movie directed by David O. Russell (American Hustle). Somehow this movie has been around since production started way back in 2008. Despite Russell’s success, the now-titled Accidental Love has struggled to gain any traction. That changed as a February 10 release date was set alongside the new trailer. It stars Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Catherine Keener (Being John Malkovich) and is available above.
The Ryan Reynolds-starring horror film The Voices also debuted a new trailer. This goes along with some weird new photos we got recently. I’m mixed on this film as well but will give it a shot when it gets a theatrical release on February 6. For those that don’t know, it also co-stars Anna Kendrick (just another reason to watch it).
David Cronenberg’s (Cosmopolis) Maps to the Stars released a trailer, too. Even not knowing that much about this movie, I can see it being controversial given its satirical nature. I wasn’t a huge fan of Cosmopolis and can see some parallels between the two movies. Check out the trailer for the movie that stars Julianne Moore, John Cusack, and Robert Pattinson below. It releases February 27th for good.
Last up is the trailer for Jalmari Helander’s Big Game. This action-adventure movie sees Samuel L. Jackson as the President of the United States that’s shot down in Finland. Seems like a fun premise right? Check out the trailer above as we wait for a U.S. playdate to be announced.
Stop by tomorrow for the newest posters!
