Clip Mania: Kingsman: The Secret Service, Seventh Son, Paddington, and More
Happy Friday everyone. As we finally inch closer to the long weekend, I’ve got a crop of new clips for you. The seven movies featured today are all new this week (meaning they weren’t involved in this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and news releases). Like most Clip Mania posts, most of the movies are movies coming out soon so I’d check out the clips to get excited about upcoming movies like Kingsman: The Secret Service, Seventh Son, Paddington, The Boy Next Door, Strange Magic, Testament of Youth, and Little Accidents.
Check them all out below.
First up are two new clips for Matthew Vaughn’s (Kick-Ass) action-comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service. The comic book adaptation stars Colin Firth as a secret agent that is looking for and training his young protege (played by Taron Egerton). Check out the clips above and the movie in wide release on February 13th.
Sergei Bodrov’s (Mongol) Seventh Son will release a week earlier than Kingsman (on February 6th). If you’d like another look at the fantasy adaptation, check it out above. Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian), Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and Kit Harington (HBO’s Game of Thrones) star in this one.
Out this weekend already is the British-American film Paddington. Like most weeks, a little last-minute marketing was in order to stir up the pot. While I won’t pretend to be overly excited to see this movie, I do see why a movie like this was made. Paddington is based on the iconic character (and voiced by Skyfall’s Ben Whishaw) and will have audiences excited. It also helps that Paul King’s (The Mighty Boosh) film is a family movie among some different choices this weekend. Check out the newest clip above.
We can then shift to next weekend as The Boy Next Door gears up to hit theaters on January 23rd. I don’t generally like to judge a movie before seeing it but Rob Cohen’s (Alex Cross) latest makes it difficult. The psychological thriller most notably stars Jennifer Lopez and you can judge for yourself above with three new clips.
With what could perhaps be the exact opposite of The Boy Next Door is our next movie. Also sporting three new clips is Gary Rydstrom’s (Hawaiian Vacation) animated movie Strange Magic. Oddly enough, it’ll hit theaters on the same day (January 23rd). The clip is above and the movie voice stars Alan Cummings (X2), Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler), and Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids).
James Kent’s film Testament of Youth wins the award for most new clips as they uploaded six new ones this past week. The war film brings back some talent I’ve already talked about today (Kit Harington and Taron Egerton) alongside Alicia Vikander (A Royal Affair) and Dominic West (HBO’s Game of Thrones). Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date on this movie yet for the U.S.
Last, but not least, I embedded a new clip for Little Accidents above. Sara Colangelo’s drama stars Elizabeth Banks in a movie about a string of, you guessed it, accidents. I’m interested to see how this movie pans out. If you get the chance, you can see the movie in limited release starting today.
Have a great weekend everyone!
