Photo Mania: Furious 7, Poltergeist, Focus, and More
Hello everyone! Today’s Photo Mania features some repeats from Monday and Tuesday, like Furious 7 and Poltergeist. It also adds in exciting new photos for Focus alongside the first looks at some exciting new films like Elvis & Nixon, Ricki and the Flash, Cell, and High-Rise.
Make sure to check out the photos below!
For the third day in a row (check out the trailer and poster, too), I’ve got some new marketing for Furious 7. This time you can check out the latest still photos for James Wan’s (The Conjuring) iteration. It stars actors like Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and the late Paul Walker. I’m slowly getting more excited for the movie now that it is mere months away (it’s set to come out on April 3rd). Of the photos worth mentioning is a sweet one showing “The Rock” with some hardcore firepower. (Source: Collider)
Also completing the famed FilmEquals trifecta is the horror remake of Poltergeist. It stars Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt (Your Sister’s Sister) and is set to release this summer on July 24th. Gil Kenan (Monster House) directed the movie but it’s probably more exciting to see Sam Raimi’s (The Evil Dead) name involved as a producer. Along with the new photos above, you can check out this week’s trailers and poster. (Source: E!)
Next up are ten new photos for the rom-con Focus. With a duo that includes Will Smith and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), this could possibly be the most attractive movie. The new photos punctuate this notion. They’re directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love) in the movie that’ll hit theaters on February 27th. The first photo for Elvis & Nixon (above) caught me offguard. Any movie with Michael Shannon (Take Shelter) and Kevin Spacey seems like it should be on my radar. This is especially true when those two play Elvis and Richard Nixon. Liza Johnson’s comedy-drama focuses on the actual moment where the two met at the White House in 1970. I’m not quite sure how the plot will sustain itself but I’m excited to see the movie whenever it gets a release. (Source: Comingsoon)
The first photo for Ricki and the Flash also hit the Internet this week. Ricki, in this case, is an aged rockstar (played by esteemed actress Meryl Streep). Mamie Gummer (Side Effects), Kevin Kline (Last Vegas), and Sebastian Shaw (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) also star in the movie that is set to hit theaters on August 7th. Ricki and the Flash is directed by Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs). (Source: Entertainment Focus)
Tod Williams’ (Paranormal Activity 2) Cell adaptation also showed off its first photo. Cell is noteworthy because it is an adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic novel of the same name. The film version stars popular actors John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson so there’s a lot to be excited about. The John Cusack-centered photo is above and the movie should come out sometime this year. And lastly, I’ve attached the first photo of Tom Hiddleston in the upcoming film High-Rise. Ben Wheatley’s (Sightseers) action film also doesn’t have a release date but if it finds a way to release this year, it’ll add to Hiddleston’s impressive year. Check out the photo above! (Source: Comingsoon)
