Clip Mania: Fifty Shades of Grey, Cinderella, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and More
While this was a pretty exciting week for new clips, it’s definitely the most random when you look at the different titles. We start off with Fifty Shades of Grey and then switch over to a Disney movie, Cinderella, before moving on to a raunchy comedy, Hot Tub Time Machine 2. It doesn’t stop there, either, because then we go to a romantic con-movie, Focus, then to a feel-good sequel, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Towards the end, there are new clips for The DUFF and The Lazarus Effect – two more movies that are nothing alike.
Therefore, there’s something for everyone below. Enjoy!
Yet another clip came out for Fifty Shades of Grey. For fans, this scene is probably a pretty iconic one because it shows off Christian’s (Jamie Dornan) “playroom.” Sam Taylor-Johnson’s (Nowhere Boy) hotly-anticipated film has already released (this weekend) and the above clip can give you a last-second glimpse at the movie before you go see it.
The first clip for Cinderella also debuted. The movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor) and stars Lily James (Wrath of the Titans), Richard Madden (HBO’s Game of Thrones), and, probably most notably, Cate Blanchett. With a release date of March 13th, the film is just around the corner. Check out the clip above.
Our only red-band clip is for the film Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The comedy sequel is set to release next weekend (on February 20th), so this is a good look at the upcoming movie. I finally saw the first movie last week to get ready for its release. Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Chevy Chase are back in Steve Pink’s comedy. The clip features a cameo from Christian Slater who is added to the mix with Adam Scott (NBC’s Parks and Recreation). Enjoy the clip above.
The quantity this week is for the upcoming film Focus starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street). The romantic comedy-drama focuses on a pair of con artists and how their relationship interferes with their con lives. That logline alone doesn’t make it sound good but the clips could change your mind. Check them out and look for Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s (I Love You Phillip Morris) latest on February 27th.
John Madden’s sequel to the 2012 hit, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, also released a new trailer. The movie returns cast members like Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Dev Patel, and more while adding Richard Gere. I probably won’t be lining up to see this movie but I can see it being another hit when it releases on February 27th. The latest clip is above for you.
Another February release, The DUFF, unveiled some new clips. The teen drama stars Mae Whitman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Robbie Amell (The CW’s The Tomorrow People), Allison Janney (Juno), and even Ken Jeong. Ari Sandel’s feature directorial debut is set to come out next weekend on February 20th and three clips are available above.
Rounding out the genre craziness is a clip for the horror film The Lazarus Effect. David Gelb directed the movie that stars Olivia Wilde (Drinking Buddies) and Mark Duplass (Tammy). If you’re interested in the movie, check out the clip above and the movie on February 27th.
If you missed this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and/or news stories, check them out, too.
