Trailer Round-Up: Insurgent, Cinderella, Pitch Perfect 2, and More
With a big weekend of new movie releases, there were plenty of new trailers hitting the web this past week. Among them were the latest from Insurgent, Cinderella, Pitch Perfect 2, and Focus. We also got our first look at some anticipated movies like Crimson Peak, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Aloha.
Check out each trailer below!
First up is a quick new trailer for Robert Schwentke’s (Flightplan) Insurgent. He takes over controls from Neil Burger but enlists the help of Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet again when it releases March 20th. Your last good look is above and shows the evergrowing tension between Tris (Woodley) and Jeanine (Winslet). Enjoy!
Following a new clip on Friday comes a new trailer for the live-action Disney movie Cinderella. The latest adaptation stars Lily James (Wrath of the Titans) as the iconic character but she’s flanked by Cate Blanchett and Richard Madden (HBO’s Game of Thrones). Kenneth Branagh (Thor) directed the movie and it’ll come out a week before Insurgent on March 13th.
The second trailer for Pitch Perfect 2 also premiered last week. Elizabeth Banks (who also stars in the movie) directs Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and a bunch of other returners when the movie debuts on May 15th. Check out the funny new trailer above.
Guillermo del Toro’s (Pacific Rim) next film, Crimson Peak, uploaded a new trailer, too. The horror film stars Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska (Stoker). Hiddleston definitely has the most meaty part and I’m hoping the movie lives up to the inevitable hype. We’ll see for sure on October 16th.
Also of note is the debut trailer for Guy Ritchie’s (Snatch) next film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. The anticipated flick is finally set to come out on August 14th and stars Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Armie Hammer (The Social Network), and Hugh Grant. The first look is above for you. Come back later this week for a new poster and photos.
Focus – the movie will the soonest release date – showed off presumably its final trailer. I happened to see this particular trailer at my viewing of Kingsman: The Secret Service and was actually kind of turned off the film. Sure, Will Smith and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) make this film inherently more appealing, but I still have my reservations. Check the trailer out above before Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s (Crazy, Stupid, Love) movie releases on February 27th.
Cameron Crowe’s (Almost Famous) previously untitled film Aloha also released its first trailer. With an impressive cast that is fronted by Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone, Aloha is a rom-com about a defense contractor that falls for an Air Force pilot. You can see more about the film and its potential in the first trailer above. Aloha is set to come out on May 29th.
Come back tomorrow for the latest movie posters!
