Poster Mania: Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Crimson Peak, and More
As we come back from the long weekend (and a busy day of trailers), I’ve got a full slate of new movie posters for you below. There is a little crossover from yesterday (with the new posters for Crimson Peak and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) but you can expect mostly new movies today. This includes Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Child 44, While We’re Young, The Water Diviner, and Welcome to Me.
Check out each poster below along with information on each movie.
First up today is the final poster for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 – a movie that comes out this weekend (on February 20) already. This piggy-backs off a new clip from last Friday. Steve Pink’s comedy sequel returns Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke while adding in Adam Scott (NBC’s Parks and Recreation). The latest poster (above) looks similar to those hot tub guidelines we’ve all seen but with a Hot Tub Time Machine twist. Check it out. (Source: IndieWire)
Following the debut trailer is a poster for Guillermo del Toro’s (Pacific Rim) horror flick Crimson Peak. The poster doesn’t show off my favorite part of the movie – star Tom Hiddleston – but it’s cool nonetheless. The poster is above and you can see the film this fall on October 16th. I also really like the debut poster for Guy Ritchie’s (Snatch) The Man from U.N.C.L.E. adaptation. His spy thriller (which seems right up his wheelhouse) stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) and Henry Cavill (Man of Steel). Check out the poster above which does a good job showing the Cold War-era setting. The movie is set to come out August 14th. (Source: Comingsoon)
Two posters (which are pretty similar when you look at them) debuted for Daniel Espinosa’s (Safe House) period thriller Child 44. You definitely wouldn’t be wrong to be excited for this movie because it has a cast that includes Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, and Gary Oldman (among others). The UK poster is are above and the movie releases in the U.S. on April 17th. (Source: Empire)
Noah Baumbach’s (Greenburg) latest, While We’re Young, also showed off a new poster last week. While We’re Young again stars Ben Stiller but also includes Naomi Watts, Adam Driver (HBO’s Girls), and Amanda Seyfried (In Time). Make sure to look out for this film when it debuts on March 27th. The Russell Crowe-directed (and starring) film The Water Diviner sent out a one-sheet this past week, too. Crowe’s film is set in 1919 and is about an Australian farmer (Crowe) out to find his missing sons. Crowe is joined onscreen by Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) and the movie is set to come out April 24th in the U.S. (Source: Comingsoon)
And finally, I’ve got a new poster for Welcome to Me. Shira Piven’s comedy is headlined by Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) and she plays a lottery winner that uses her money to star a TV show about herself. We’ll see if it’s any good (since it certainly has the potential to go either way at this point) when it releases on May 1st. Check out the poster above. (Source: MovieHole)
