Poster Mania: Get Hard, The Gunman, The Cobbler, and More
Happy Tuesday! With the Oscars on Sunday night, we can (finally) turn fully towards 2015 movies. With that, I’ve included some new posters for upcoming movies. And while this list isn’t full of our usual popcorn tentpoles, there are some exciting new projects coming up. To go along with yesterday’s trailers, I’ve got new posters for Infinitely Polar Bear and Kill Me Three Times. I’ve also included three posters for The Gunman as well as a new look at Get Hard, The Cobbler, and the documentaries Cobain: Montage of Heck and A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Valasquez Story.
Check ’em all out below.
Our first poster definitely takes the cake for worst photoshop job. The poster is for Get Hard and it features star Will Ferrell “bench pressing” Kevin Hart (I use quotes because, well, it looks awful). Regardless of the poster, it’s hard not to get excited about a comedy that stars these funnymen. Etan Cohen’s directorial debut hits theaters on March 27th, so we’re only about a month away. Our only gallery of posters is for the upcoming action-thriller The Gunman. The latest posters show stars Sean Penn, Idris Elba, and Jasmine Trinca (The Son’s Room) but fail to show off my favorite asset: Javier Bardem. Either way, Pierre Morel’s (Taken) latest is set to come out a week ahead of Get Hard on March 20th. Check out all three posters below. (Source: IMDb)
Although it may not be on a lot of people’s radars, Tom McCarthy’s (Win Win) next film, The Cobbler, is an exciting upcoming movie. There was a chance the film would debut last year; however, the comedy-drama found itself with a 2015 theatrical release after hitting film festivals last year. Now set to debut on March 13th, the movie is even closer than ever. As the poster above shows, Adam Sandler plays the protagonist but I’m here to tell you he’s joined by Dustin Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, and Dan Stevens (ITV’s Downton Abbey). Check the poster out! If you missed yesterday’s Trailer Round-Up, you missed everything I had to say about the upcoming film Infinitely Polar Bear. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the movie (even if it doesn’t have a U.S. release date yet) but actors Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana probably top the list. They’re featured in the latest international poster for Maya Forbes’ film above. (Source: /Film)
Speaking of yesterday’s Trailer Round-Up, there was a new poster to go along with the red-band trailer of Kill Me Three Times starring Simon Pegg (Star Trek). Pegg, who is sporting a sniper rifle in the poster, plays one of multiple assassin’s out to kill a woman (played by Alice Braga of I Am Legend). The black comedy is directed by Kriv Stenders (Red Dog) and hits theaters April 10th. The poster is above if you’re interested. (Source: IndieWire)
Cobain: Montage of Heck starts off our back-to-back documentary posters. The poster above released on Kurt Cobain’s birthday last week. The doc (which played at Sundance) was well-received and will be available on HBO May 4th. I think it’s an interesting subject and am excited to see what Brett Morgen (Crossfire Hurricane) achieved. Lastly, A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story – another documentary – unveiled a new poster which gives insight to its subject matter. It’s based on Lizzie Velasquez, who is known for her TED Talks about online bullying given her extremely rare syndrome. The poster speaks for itself so check it out above. A Brave Heart is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW festival and you can expect a theatrical release after that. (Source: IndieWire)
Have a good rest of your day and come on back tomorrow for some new movie photos.
