Trailer Round-Up: Insurgent, Terminator: Genysis, The Gunman, and More
In today’s Monday Trailer Round-Up, I’ve included the latest and greatest movie trailers for you to watch. I’ll start with the two most exciting movies with new trailers (Insurgent and Terminator: Genisys). I’ll then move onto other exciting, but less known, films like The Gunman, While We’re Young, Two Men in Town, Love and Mercy, and Cymbeline.
The trailers are below to watch and I’ve also included who stars in and directs each movie along with its release date. Enjoy!
With Robert Schwentke’s (Flightplan) Insurgent adaptation just weeks away (it releases officially on March 20th), I’ve embedded a quick, new trailer above for you. Insurgent again stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslett. Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts also joined the second (there will be four total) movie. Check out the trailer above.
A new IMAX trailer released for Terminator: Genisys as well. It’s not hugely different from what we’ve already seen; however, Alan Taylor’s (Thor: The Dark World) Terminator reboot is one of the more exciting films to come out this year so I’ve still included the trailer above. Genisys again stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and brings in Emilia Clarke (HBO’s Game of Thrones) and Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). Look for the film on July 1st.
Pierre Morel’s (Taken) upcoming action-thriller The Gunman is up next. The fun cast includes Sean Penn, Idris Elba (Pacific Rim), and Javier Bardem. The latest trailer tries its hardest to channel Liam Neeson’s badassery in Taken with Sean Penn as its stand-in. We’ll see how well they pull it off on March 20th when The Gunman debuts.
Another trailer came online for While We’re Young – the latest from esteemed director Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale). In his latest project, Baumbach directs Ben Stiller, the aforementioned Naomi Watts, and Adam Driver (HBO’s Girls). Take a glance at the film with the new trailer above. While We’re Young will come out a week after Insurgent and The Gunman on March 27th.
Two Men in Town comes out even earlier as it’s set to premiere this weekend on March 6th. The French-American drama (directed by Just Like a Woman’s Rachid Bouchareb) most notably stars Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland). Whitaker takes on the role of a Muslim ex-con and his performance looks good based on the trailer. Check it out above!
The biographical film Love and Mercy also uploaded a new trailer. Bill Pohlad directed the movie that’ll focus on Brian Wilson (of The Beach Boys). Paul Dano and John Cusack both play different versions of Wilson since the plot simultaneously covers his life in the ’60s and ’80s. Love and Mercy is set to come out on June 5th and the trailer is above.
Up last is the film Cymbeline starring Ethan Hawke, Ed Harris, and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey). The crime film is directed by Michael Almereyda (Hamlet) and is again based on a William Shakespeare piece. If the trailer isn’t enough for you, make sure to check out the full film on March 13th.
