Jennifer Lawrence Goes Mystique in “X-Men: First Class”
Actress Jennifer Lawrence has been cast in the upcoming X-Men reboot “X-Men: First Class.” Fox Studios and director Matthew Vaughn have been casting at a break neck pace to get the movie ready for production, and the focus has been mostly on younger actors.
The franchise reboot will not feature any of the actors from the original trilogy and will take on a different focus from the original films. The new film will follow the superhero team from a much younger age than previous films. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will star as Professor Xavier and Magneto, respectively. Around them, the studio has cast a group of young actors that includes Nicholas Hoult, Alive Eve, Caleb Landry Jones, and now Jennifer Lawrence. She will be playing the role of Mystique.
Lawrence has several projects in the works including “The House at the End of the Street” and Jodie Foster’s “The Beaver.” Lawrence is the second addition to the X-Men cast this week after Kevin Bacon signed on to play an as yet known villain.
