KIDS IN AMERICA With Topher Grace & Anna Faris To Be Finally Released
Topher Grace’s first screenplay has finally received a release date after three long years stuck waiting on the shelves. Relativity Media has announced that the youth-targeted film will be released into theaters on March 4, 2011.
The screenplay was the first ever from Grace and was his first work after leaving the hit television series “That ’70s Show.” According to New York Magazine, the film became locked in a corporate battle between Relativity and Universal. Despite being completed in 2007, the film’s release was delayed by a string of acquisition moves that left a handful of movies sitting on shelves. “Kids in America” is a romantic comedy that stars Grace, Anna Faris, and Michelle Trachtenberg. Grace plays a highly educated college graduate who passes on a high paying job to work as a video store clerk.
Relativity Media’s recent acquisition of Overture Films is resulting in the release of several films that were trapped on the shelves collecting dust. In addition to “Kids,” Relativity announced release dates for the Robert De Niro film “The Dark Fields” (March 18), “Jack Goes Boating” (October 1), and “Let Me In” (October 8).
