Tom Hardy And Shia LaBeouf Team Up In THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD
Based on the novel from Matt Bondurant, THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD is a Prohibition Era drama from John Hillcoat (The Road), and will star Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf.
County is the story of a family of bootleggers and will be fairly new ground from LaBeouf and Hardy; both who primarily star in action films. Hardy has tried his hand in period pieces, he was in the adaptation of Wuthering Heights as well as Black Hawk Down; but LaBeouf only has the golf movie The Greatest Game Ever Played on his list of period pieces.
Hardy is best known for his role in this summer’s blockbuster Inception where he started as agent Eaems, and has also been cast in an unrevealed role in The Dark Knight Rises. LaBeouf is known for the Transformer films.
County’s screenplay has been written by Nick Cave, and will be financed independently and shooting will begin this spring.
