Taylor Lautner is Making It Rain
Despite not even opening a movie on his own yet, Twilight star Taylor Lautner has a shooting schedule that is filling up fast.
According to TheWrap.com, Lautner has just become attached to an untitled spy thriller from New Regency. The film is being described as “‘The Bourne Identity for the next generation,” and reportedly both studios were willing to pay at least $10 million to secure the actor’s services. The story is said to be loosely based on the exploits of former Israeli Mossad agent Juval Aviv, who served as the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s Munich.
And that is in addition to the role he already has in Fox 2000’s Incarceron. In the running to star with Lautner are Blake Lively (The Town), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) and Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame.
Lautner will produce both projects through his company Quick Six. Though could just as well rename it Quick Eight now that he’s getting salaries of eight-figures before his 19th birthday. It’s a big step up from the $7.5 million he’ll reportedly earn for starring in Universal’s Stretch Armstrong.
Producing Incarceron is John Palermo, through his eponymous production company. Alexandra Milchan (daughter of New Regency founder Arnon Milchan) will produce the spy thriller.
Lautner will be finishing up Summit’s Breaking Dawn this spring, which will leave two slots open for the rest of the year. Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are reportedly still trying to get him for an untitled project, while Scott Stuber wants Lautner to star in his adaptation of R. A. Slavator’s novel Demon Wars. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners are also reportedly after him, even if they have to wait until 2012 for the actor to become available.
Lionsgate is due to release the John Singleton thriller Abduction on Sept. 23, which is when Lautner’s star power will get its first real test.
