New SUPERMAN Character Revealed!
In a report from the LatinoReview, we have learned that the new female character in Zack Synder’s SUPERMAN will be the Kryptonian villain URSA.
This information had been previously kept hush hush, with only the news that three actresses (Alice Eve, Diane Kruger, and Rosamund Pike) were auditioning for a female role. At first fans speculated that casting had begun for Lois Lane, however this is not the case.
Fans of Superman will remember URSA from Superman:The Movie and Superman II, where the role was played by Sara Douglas. While URSA was banished with General Zod; Synder has stated that Zod will not be in his version of Superman, and that any talk of him being cast is “just a rumor”.
Production for Superman will begin summer of 2011 with a possible 2012 release date.
