Stephenie Meyer’s ‘The Host’ Teaser Trailer and First Photos with Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons

The teaser trailer for the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s book The Host has finally hit the net thanks to Yahoo! Movies. To be honest I am a bit disappointed by it. I read the book and it’s fantastic, but the teaser wouldn’t really make me want to see the film if I hadn’t read it. Hopefully the full trailer will give us a little more to be excited about.

A couple of photos were also released by People featuring Saoirse Ronan, who plays Melanie, and Max Irons who plays Jared. The movie also stars Jake Abel (I Am Number Four, Percy Jackson & The Olympians), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Bastards, Unknown), William Hurt (Into The Wild, The Incredible Hulk) and Frances Fisher (Titanic), it was directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, In Time).

Based on the best-selling novel by Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer, ‘The Host’ is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.

The Host will be released to theaters on March 29th, 2013.
