Sucker Punch Actress Jena Malone Joins ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
‘Sucker Punch’ actress Jena Malone has signed on to star in the second installment of the popular Hunger Games franchise entitled Catching Fire. Malone will play Johanna Mason under the direction of Francis Lawrence who is bringing the Suzanne Collins adaption to the big screen.
The Hatfield and McCoy’s actress’ new alter ego is best described as one of the youngest of the Quarter Quell participants, but also the most psychologically traumatized by the world of the Hunger Games. Malone will star opposite actress Jennifer Lawrence as the lead character Katniss, Josh Hutcherson in the role of Peeta and actor Liam Hemsworth as Gale.
Malone has previously appeared in the films ‘Dakota’, ‘In Our Nature’, ‘I Think Bad Thoughts’, ‘Rachel’, ‘The Soloist’, The Ruins, ‘Into The Wild’, ‘The Ballad of Jack & Rose’, ‘The Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys’, the upcoming movie ‘A Doll’s House’, and more.
‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will hit theaters on November 22, 2013. The second installment will chronicle Katniss in Peeta’s Victor Tour through the districts. “Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
