‘Thor 2’ Enlists Actor Christopher Eccleston
Thor 2 has nabbed actor Christopher Eccleston of ‘Doctor Who’ fame to play the key role of the villainous Malekith according to news coming by way of the always reliable Deadline.
For the unaware, Malekith The Accursed is known as Marvel villain who is the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. In the follow up to Thor both the titular superhero and Malekith will face off. Alan Taylor will be directing the second installment. He is well known for his work on ‘Games of Thrones’.
Aside from Christopher Eccleston latest casting news, the movie will also feature returning stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Kat Dennings (Two Broke Girls).
Christopher Eccleston is also working on the 2012 film ‘Song for Marion’ in the role of James. Additionally the actor has appeared in the TV series ‘Blackout’, the TV movie ‘The Borrowers’, ‘The League of Gentleman’, ‘Flesh and Blood’, ‘The King and Us’, ‘Clocking Off’, ‘Our Friends in the North’, ‘Cracker’ the series, ‘The Shadow Line’ as the character Jospeh Bede, ‘Accused’, the short ‘The Happiness Salesman’, ‘Lennon Naked’, 2007’s ‘The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising’ and the long running sci-fi series ‘Heroes’.
‘Thor 2’ is slated for a 2013 release.
