Saoirse Ronan Takes The Lead In ‘Mary Queen of Scots’
‘The Lovely Bones’ actress Saoirse Ronan has been nabbed for Working Title’s latest production entitled Mary Queen of Scots, Deadline is reporting. In the film Ronan will play the historic female figure who became the Queen in her infancy. From there the motion picture is set to tackle the roller coaster ride of Mary’s life in the spotlight, her marriage to her first cousin; murder and mayhem, as well as her ultimate escape before meeting her death.
‘Mary Queen of Scots’ comes from producers Tim Bevana and Eric Fellner with a script that was penned by writer Michael Hirst. Production on the project is set to take place next year with the film aiming for what looks like a 2014 release.
Saoirse Ronan brings with her credits that include the drama ‘Atonement’, ‘Hannah’, ‘How I Live Now’, the big screen flick ‘The Clinic’, ‘City of Ember’, and the film ‘Proof’. The actress will also turn heads with her role in ‘The Host’ that is based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer who is responsible for the ‘Twilight’ Saga.
